Your ‘Bro’ in Our Ritual? I Reject You. Chapter 05

As my fiancé, Archie hung up on my call to stay with his female friend at the parade.

The healer gave me a look of pity. “Threatened miscarriage. If you’d come in half an hour earlier, we could’ve

saved it.”

A suffocating despair engulfed me.

I called Archie countless times.

It wasn’t until night fell that my parents arrived from hundreds of miles away. Meanwhile, Archie-who was

only five miles away at the amusement park with Caroline-never showed up.

That day, completely heartbroken, I left with my parents.

Remembering something, I opened the chat with my closest cousin Maya.

She had messaged me before the procession started.

Maya: [Olivia, is the mating ceremony about to start?]

Then a few minutes later: [Don’t be too sad. Even though your parents didn’t let us attend the ceremony, they

actually regret it.]

Maya: [They’ll come around. You’ll see.]

She had attached a video.

Seeing my parents in the thumbnail, I hadn’t found the courage to open it until now.

With trembling fingers, I pressed play.

On the couch, my parents’ eyes were red.

My mother wiped her tears. “I told her long ago that Alpha wasn’t a good man! Who abandons his pregnant fiancée just to fool around with another woman?”

“And what happened? That bastard knelt in the snow all night until he got himself put in the hospital, made

some meaningless oath, and she softened up again.”

My father held his coffee cup in silence.

My mother smacked him in frustration. “And you! You said if she mated him, you’d disown her. Now she’s really gone.”

Seeing the new white hairs on my parents’ heads, my tears dripped down.

After a long silence, my father pulled a credit card from his wallet and handed it to Maya.

“Maya, give this to Olivia when you get the chance.”

“There’s a hundred thousand dollars in here. Don’t let her suffer in the Crimson Pack.”

The emotions I had suppressed all day completely exploded.

I buried my face in my hands, crying uncontrollably until my voice went hoarse.

Only one thought remained in my mind: I wanted to go home.

I shoved my clothes frantically into my suitcase. Having missed the early train, I hired a long-distance cab for two thousand dollars.

Just as I zipped the bag, Archie called.

“Why aren’t you replying to my messages?”

I said nothing.

He clicked his tongue, his tone nonchalant.

“Got a bit carried away-messed up quite a bit of the altar decorations too.”

“We set up a banquet hall nearby, about a thousand square feet. We’ll hold our ceremony there.”

A Beta had experienced the Luna ceremony in the sacred shrine.

Meanwhile, the actual Luna was being shoved into a side tent.

To him, it was as casual as changing a parking spot.

I couldn’t even be bothered to argue anymore.

I gave a flat reply. “Okay.”

Not hearing the complaints he expected, Archie froze for a moment.

Relieved, he let out a breath. “That’s more like it.”

“They’re setting up the venue now, and I just had someone order a replica of the cake.”

Softening his voice, he spoke with a trace of tenderness. “Olivia, you’re about to become my Luna.”

“The mating ceremony starts at nine. Make sure you’re there on time.”

The call ended.

I slid the diamond ring off my ring finger and set it casually on the nightstand.

I turned around and stepped into the cab headed home.

The moment he put down his phone, Archie was still in disbelief.

Olivia had actually agreed so easily.

He opened his contacts, double-checking if he had dialed the right number.

Just then, a force slammed into his back, making him stumble forward.
