When the Forgotten One-Eyed Luna Rises Chapter 05

By the time the news of Skylar’s revoked admission spread back to the Fullmoon Pack, I was already on the train heading to the Northern Territory.

The Alpha sent me a message.

[The admissions office has received the documents you submitted. My Beta has also contacted your

university and explained the situation. Your enrollment will not be affected.]

I stared at those two lines for a long time.

Then I replied: [Thank you, Alpha.]

It was the Alpha who helped me complete the process of leaving the pack, giving me a way out of the

suffocating home I had endured for so many years.

The last thing he said to me was something I would always remember. “You are an excellent Gamma. Our

pack will always welcome you back.”

Outside the window, the territory of the pack slowly disappeared into the distance.

I held the folder containing my documents tightly.

My fingers were still stiff. Only at that moment did I finally realize that I had truly left.

I hadn’t just walked from home to the pack school, nor had I simply stepped away from the living room and returned to my bedroom. I had left behind the city that had imprisoned me for eight years, the pack that had held me back, and the home that had slowly suffocated me until I could no longer breathe.

Soon, my phone was flooded with countless messages from unfamiliar numbers, all from Mom, Dad, Logan, and Xander, who had probably finally realized that I hadn’t remained where they thought I would.

I didn’t answer a single call.

After a while, my phone finally became quiet.

Then Skylar sent me a message. [Daisy, are you satisfied now? I don’t have a university anymore. Why do you have to be so cruel?]

I stared at those words. Suddenly, I remembered what happened when I was ten.

The pack doctor had told me that my left eye would never see again.

Mom had held Skylar, who was crying so hard that her body was trembling, and said without even looking

back, “Skylar didn’t do it on purpose. Don’t blame her.”

Back then, no one asked me: “Daisy, you lost your left eye. Does it hurt?”

Now Skylar had only lost a university admission offer. Yet they acted as if the sky had fallen.

I closed the message. Then I blocked her.

The train shook slightly. The water in my cup spilled out and soaked the copy of my admission letter.

I took a tissue and slowly wiped it dry, treating it with a gentleness that felt like I was quietly wiping away the

last remaining ties I had to them.

Meanwhile, the Gamma Pack house had already fallen into chaos.

These were the things the Alpha told me later.

Mom broke down in front of Royal Fang Academy and cried, begging the admissions office to give Skylar

another chance.

Dad tried to maintain his dignity at first, claiming it was only a family misunderstanding.

Logan angrily questioned the academy, demanding to know why they would only believe my side of the story.

The admissions officer silently placed the documents in front of them, including the hospital refund record, the piano purchase receipt, the photos of the old pack house duty logbook, and the statement they had once

forced me to sign.

The officer said, “Daisy Dawson has provided additional information. This statement was signed while her

documents were being withheld and her enrollment was being threatened.”

“Family members should cooperate with the investigation instead of continuing to pressure her.”

Mom’s face turned frighteningly pale.

For the first time, Dad had nothing to say. Logan stared at the piano receipt, his fingers trembling.

Only Skylar was still crying.

She grabbed Mom’s hand and repeated over and over, “That’s not what happened. I was only ten years old

back then. I just wanted a chance to start over.”

But this time, no one immediately reached out to comfort her.

Mom slowly pulled her hand away. For a moment, Skylar’s crying stopped.

Perhaps, for the first time, she realized something.

Even the person who had always been protected by everyone could one day be left behind.
