“Pregnant? What pregnancy?” Ethan’s face changed drastically, panic flickering in his eyes. “Claire, when did this happen? Why didn’t you tell me?”

“I… I…” Claire stammered, unable to get a word out.

Mom and Dad were so shocked that they could barely stand.

“Oh wow, so Claire really is pregnant!” I pretended to be surprised and covered my mouth, moving closer with a bright smile. “Why didn’t you tell us about such wonderful news sooner? Though…”

My gaze shifted to the thugs still pinned to the floor, and I tapped my head as if troubled. “Which one of

them is the father?”

The men burst into laughter, their expressions suggestive.

“Not me! I was careful!”

“Not me either! We always took turns!”

“Who says it has to be one of us? This little slut probably sleeps with tons of guys…”

“Shut up!” Claire’s face went ashen. “I… I have nothing to do with you people, and I definitely wouldn’t be carrying any of your children!”

Her hand instinctively reached for Ethan’s. Seeing the plea in her eyes, he immediately stroked the back

of her hand.

My eyes lit up, and I spoke with innocent curiosity. “Claire, why do you keep looking at Ethan like that?

Could it be… that the baby might be his?”

Dead silence fell over the room. I acted oblivious and continued innocently, “But Claire and Ethan aren’t

really siblings, so having a baby together wouldn’t be a problem. The only question is whether this baby is actually his. After all…”

I paused deliberately and glanced meaningfully at the men around us before shaking my head with

feigned concem.

My words landed like a bomb. Dad clenched his fists, veins bulging on his forehead. “Claire Hartley!

Explain yourself right now. Whose bastard are you carrying?”

Mom’s face went deathly pale. She barely managed to steady herself against the doorframe, her eyes filled with devastation. “Ethan, tell us the truth. You and Claire… did you two…”

All color drained from Ethan’s and Claire’s faces. Neither could manage to speak. After a long moment, Ethan finally spoke.

“I’m sorry, Mom, Dad. I do have feelings for Claire. She’s a good person, and she’s not my biological sister.

We can be together. Now that she’s pregnant, I’ll take full responsibility.”

“You bastard! Both of you are bastards!” Dad’s whole body trembled violently, fury burning in his eyes as he slapped Ethan hard across the face.

Mom couldn’t handle it at all. Her eyes rolled back, and she collapsed to the floor.

“Mom! Dad! We’re in love. Please give us your blessing!”

Ethan stood his ground, which moved Claire to tears. “Ethan, thank you. I knew you’d treat me the best.

The sight made me nauseous. I kindly reminded them. “But Claire, how can you be sure this baby is Ethan’s?” I looked pointedly at the men around us.

My words pushed Claire over the edge. “I told you I have nothing to do with them! Stop spreading lies about me! Ethan, you have to believe me.”

Ethan immediately pulled her into his arms, shooting me a warning look. “Amanda, stop with your nonsense! Claire has only ever been with me. These men were obviously hired by you to put on a show! And you faked those photos and videos too!”

I nodded, barely suppressing a smile. My so-called brother was completely blinded by love. What a shame.

I turned to the doctor standing nearby, who seemed to have something to say, and asked softly, “Dr.

Langford, is something wrong? Is there a problem with Claire’s baby? Ethan cares so much about this

child. You must take good care of Claire’s health!”

Hearing this, Ethan grew anxious as well. “What’s wrong with the baby? Dr. Langford, just tell us!”

Dr. Langford looked deeply uncomfortable. He hesitated before speaking. “The baby is fine. It’s just… it’s

not yours.”
