The second they got out of the car, Adrian dragged Sienna over in front of me.

The moment she saw me, Sienna dropped to her knees, crying her eyes out.

“Nora, please forgive me, I’ll never bully you again!”

“I was the one who kept you from coming home. I leaned on how much Adrian and Mom loved me, because I didn’t want you taking everything that was mine.”

“I know I was wrong now. I’ll agree to go abroad. As long as this family will still have me, I’ll do anything!”

Her voice cracked, she’d cried herself hoarse, not a trace left of the girl who used to lord it over everyone.

I knit my brows hard.

“Who told you to come here?”

Sienna sniffled.

“Don’t blame Adrian and Mom. It’s all my fault.”

“They said if you wouldn’t forgive me, they’d throw me out of the family to fend for myself!”

“I’m begging you, Nora, please forgive me!”

“Then go fend for yourself.”

I looked down at her, my voice cold and set.

There was a time I’d done plenty of groveling to her, just so I could come home.

But now that I didn’t want to go back anymore, there was no reason to keep up the act.

“Don’t try to guilt-trip me. I’m not buying it.”

“Whether you want to jump off something or get tossed out on the street, none of it has anything to do with me.”

Sienna was stunned by the change in me, her eyes shrinking in disbelief.

I turned to look at Mom and my brother.

“And you two. Coming to my house without my say-so is trespassing. I can call the cops.”

Mom went pale and ran over to grab my hand.

“Nora, I know you can’t stand us, but at the end of the

day we’re family.”

“I gave birth to you. My blood runs in your veins. How can you just cut that off?”

I watched her, cold, and pulled my hand back.

“Family? Then what were those three years out on the edge of the city?”

“Who leaves their own lost daughter out in the cold for three years and won’t let her come home?”

Mom’s face went rigid. Her mouth opened, but nothing came out, and slowly her eyes turned red.

I turned my back on her.

“Go. Don’t come here again.”

Sienna was sent away.
