Alessio looked out at the guests, his voice clear and steady.

He raised his left hand.

The $29.99 ring glinted under the chandeliers.

A collective gasp went through the crowd.

Alessio didn’t flinch.

“Tonight, I need to clarify something.”

Isabella’s expression hardened.

Sofia went rigid.

Alessio continued, “Two years ago, at my wedding to Verona, the Ricci family wedding ring was not placed on her hand.”

A low murmur rippled through the hall.
