Trapped in the Don’s Vow Chapter 10

Trapped in the Don’s Vow Chapter 10

A familiar, icy scent filled the air.

I yanked my veil off in one motion. “Vincent. I knew it was you.”

He stood in front of me in a perfectly tailored suit, and when I recognized him that quickly, a flicker of

satisfaction crossed his face.

He shut the door and reached for my hand. “Serena, come with me. Now.”

I jerked away. “Are you insane? It’s my wedding night. Lorenzo’s men will kill you.”

Vincent didn’t even flinch, his eyes turning soft. “Don’t worry. I have a way out.”

“I’ve already made a deal with the Bratva,” he said. “They’re waiting outside the city, and we can hide on their

turf.”

“Their boss promised me a high-ranking position,” Vincent added. “Serena, come with me. I won’t let you

suffer again.”

My voice shook with disbelief. “Vincent… you betrayed us?”

“Do you have any idea this is a death sentence for you and your whole family?”

Vincent gave a bitter laugh. “Betrayal? Don Moretti betrayed me first.”

“In a few days this city will belong to the Bratva,” he said coldly. “If you want to live, you come with me.”

I stared at him, then laughed. “Vincent, the rules never change.”

“You really think the Bratva will treat you better once they get what they want?” I said. “You’re an idiot.”

He didn’t listen.

He reached for me again.

The door slammed open.

Lorenzo stood there, his personal security detail flanking him on both sides.

Vincent went rigid, fear surfacing on his face like a stain.

“Gambini, you pathetic little man,” Lorenzo said. “You think the Bratva is waiting for you?”

“They all died in their own beds last night,” he went on calmly. “The only thing waiting outside the city for you is ghosts.”

“No,” Vincent choked, terror flooding his eyes. “That’s impossible. You’re lying.”

Lorenzo smiled and lifted a folder. “Recognize this?” he asked, holding up the classified intel Vincent had

sold

Vincent’s voice cracked. “How how did you get that?”

Lorenzo tossed the folder aside. “Do you really think my father and I are fools?”

“The day you started entertaining the thought of defecting, we started watching you,” he said. “And what you

sold them was worthless.”

“Surrender now and your family might be spared,” Lorenzo finished. “Keep resisting, and I’ll erase the

Gambini name from this world.”

Vincent broke completely.

As he was dragged away, he looked back at me one last time, blood and tears streaking down his face.

That night, he put a bullet through his head.

Three years later, Lorenzo became the true boss of the Moretti family.

And I became the most powerful woman in the Mafia.

Under my protection, the Rossi family flourished for a century.
