Three Years Protecting His Secret Love… Until His Wife Finally Disappeared Chapter 02

I had barely gotten back to the house when I heard lively voices inside.

“Camille, is this your fiancé’s place? It’s gorgeous—and huge!”

“No wonder you gave up a job overseas to come home. Who wouldn’t want to marry into this kind of money?”

I tensed and reached for the door, but the smart lock gave a sharp error tone.

When I tried again, the door opened from inside.

The woman standing there had long, straight black hair and was dressed impeccably. Even the tiny clip in her hair cost four figures.

Graham had lavished money and affection on her, and it showed in the way she carried herself.

One of Camille’s friends frowned at me.

“Camille, is that your housekeeper? What’s with the attitude?”

“She reeks of antiseptic. I’m going to be sick.”

Camille didn’t correct her. She only smiled.

I said coldly, “Graham and I aren’t even divorced yet. You’re already this eager to play lady of the house?”

“Get out now, or I’m calling the police.”

I had barely pulled out my phone when Camille gave a small signal. One of the bodyguards immediately snatched it from me and pinned me in place.

Some of them were even the same men who had once helped me investigate and tail Graham.

“Elise, don’t be ridiculous.”

“Didn’t the lock already tell you who this house belongs to?”

Camille came closer, grabbed my hand, and pressed it against the fingerprint reader again.

The lock rejected my fingerprint with another sharp warning tone.

“Whoever can get through the door owns the place.”

I clenched my fist.

“Graham and I bought this house together. My name is still on the deed.”

“You think deleting my fingerprint from the lock means you can just steal my home?”

Camille’s smile only widened.

She had the house manager bring over a copy of the deed. When I looked at it, Camille’s name was now listed as the owner.

“I liked this house, so Graham put it in my name.”

“Elise, you’re the one trespassing now.”

My stomach dropped.

Six months earlier, Graham had brought me a stack of corporate paperwork with several blank signature pages mixed in.

I hadn’t thought much of it at the time. I had simply signed them.

So even then, he had already been planning to erase me from his life for good.

One of Camille’s friends laughed. “Housekeepers are getting bold these days. Imagine claiming the house belongs to you!”

“Of all people, you picked a fight with Mr. Sinclair’s fiancée. Bet you feel stupid now!”

I looked around and only then realized every piece of furniture had already been replaced.

I wrenched free of the bodyguard and rushed upstairs to the primary bedroom, where a shard of broken glass cut me.

The ultrasound printout had been torn to pieces amid the shattered glass.

“I didn’t like that piece of paper, so I had the house manager get rid of it.”

“Judging by the date, you were only about two months along, right?”

Camille smiled sweetly. “What a shame. That was the last thing you had left of your baby, and now it’s gone too…”

My eyes burned. I raised my hand to slap her, but several uniformed officers suddenly appeared.

“Ms. Bennett, we received a report of trespassing. We need you to come with us.”

Before I could react, Graham strode over, pulled Camille behind him, and shoved me away. His eyes were red with fury as he looked at me like he wanted to eat me alive.

“Elise, didn’t I tell you not to lay a hand on people who are off-limits to you?”
