They Swapped Brides At The Wedding, I Swapped Grooms Chapter 03

On the aisle runner, Rowan gazed at Lorinda with longing.

I suddenly remembered the rehearsal day standing on that very same runner, at that very same spot.

When I walked a little too slow, he’d frowned and urged me.

“Hurry up. It’s only a rehearsal.”

Now he stood there, waiting for another bride.

While I was still frozen, they started exchanging rings.

I’d only seen that ring once.

Then Rowan took it away.

“I’ll keep the ring safe and bring it out at the wedding.”

Back then I thought he valued our ceremony and didn’t want to lose it.

It turned out it wasn’t value.

It was because that ring was meant for someone else.

Over there, the crowd was rowdy, egging them on.

“Kiss her! Kiss her!”

Lorinda ducked her head, playing shy.

Rowan lifted her chin and kissed her.

I watched quietly, without even a tear.

I pulled out my phone and called Bryce.

“Delay the ceremony by a few minutes. Come over now.”

He answered with one word.

“Okay.”

Bryce arrived with a new gown and shoes.

It was the gown I’d loved the most from the start.

When I tried on dresses that day, I chose it.

But Rowan said it was too flashy and swapped it for the plain white one I was wearing now.

After all that, it still ended up in front of me.

I stood up and took the gown.

“Let’s begin.”

Meanwhile, at the other wedding, Rowan was going through the motions during the toasts.

He kept glancing at his blocked calls, frowning, his eyelid twitching.

He didn’t snap out of it until Lorinda called him.

“Rowan, what are you spacing out for? Your aunt’s been calling you forever.”

His aunt teased.

“Rowan’s just overjoyed he finally married you.”

Then she added, almost as an afterthought.

“We all thought he liked Lillian. He hid it well.”

Lorinda looked smug, leaning sweetly against Rowan’s shoulder.

“So Rowan really does like me that much.”

Rowan subconsciously felt that things shouldn’t have gone this way.

But the joyful atmosphere around him quickly drowned that thought out.

He smiled, shook his head, and poked her forehead.

“How could I ever trust anyone else to take care of you? Guess I’ll just have to keep you myself.”

Lorinda grinned playfully at him.

“Do you think Lillian will be upset when she brings the veil over and sees we’ve already had our ceremony? I bet she’s heartbroken. Everyone knows she was crazy about you.”

Rowan took her hand and said, “Don’t worry about her. Today’s wedding is all about you.”
