“No way! It’s you!”

I looked at the smiling man standing in front of me.

It was the same person who had helped me on the long-distance train.

“Hi, I’m Mateo.”

He reached out his hand, then quickly apologized.

“I’m sorry about last time.”

“I shouldn’t have just stood there.”

“Actually, when I recorded the video, I was planning to step in.”

“But I was worried you two might be in on it together, so I recorded the evidence first…”

He must have traveled a lot.

He was unusually cautious.

“Dinner’s on me.”

Mateo immediately waved his hands.

“No, no. My treat.”

He called over the group he had been traveling with.

A mix of guys and girls, but they all got along great.

Mateo introduced me to everyone.

When they found out I had come here alone, planned the entire trip myself, and even found this boutique

lodge with a view of the snow-covered mountains, they all looked impressed.

“Wow, that’s seriously impressive.”

I took them to a small local restaurant hidden away from the tourist areas.

It was the kind of place only locals knew about.

They served the best beef bourguignon.

The compliments kept coming.

But after hearing their praise, I suddenly felt like crying.

No one had ever told me…

Planning a trip was something to be proud of too.

Theodore and the others had never cared about the food or the experience.

They only cared about one thing.

Whether the photos would look perfect.

That was why every trip with them ended with me barely eating anything good.

After we returned to the boutique lodge, one of the girls from the group came over and handed me a door

security alarm.

“Who would even bother with someone who looks like me?”

The moment the words left my mouth, I regretted them.

Why had I gotten used to putting myself down too?

The girl froze for a second.

Then she firmly pushed the door security alarm into my hand.

It was the first time someone had ever complimented me.

And the first time someone cared about my safety.

Not just some careless comment like “You look safe.”

While things were finally peaceful on my end…

Theodore and the others were almost losing their minds.

“Why is it still so hot when winter is almost here?”

Serena complained, her back sticky from the heat.

Everyone was irritated by the weather.

Their first instinct was to blame someone.

But when they turned around…

There was no one behind them.

Theodore had a whole list of sarcastic remarks ready.

But they got stuck in his throat.

The person who always carried the heaviest bags.

The person who always smiled while following behind them.

Wasn’t there anymore.

They had gotten used to traveling without making any plans.

What clothes to pack.

Where to stay.

What places to visit.

I had always handled everything.

“Enough. Stop complaining.”

Isla frowned.

“Where’s the car picking us up?”

“Where’s our tour guide?”

“Which hotel are we staying at?”

She threw out three questions in a row.

But no one answered.

Theodore’s expression turned stiff.

“You guys didn’t arrange anything?”

Luca slowly shook his head.

“Blythe…”

“Where is she?”

Serena answered quietly.

“Yeah…”

“Blythe always handled all of this.”

“Is she angry at us?”

“Did she do this on purpose to make things difficult for us?”

Luca suddenly snapped.

“Shut up.”

“I’m asking where Blythe is.”

Serena’s eyes instantly filled with tears.

But for once, Theodore and Isla didn’t have the energy to comfort her.

For the first time, their hearts felt strangely empty.

Even Serena’s usual little complaints became annoying.

Maybe it was because the heat had gotten to him.
