They Bullied the Top Student, Then My Mafia Family Arrived Chapter 08

One helicopter door after another swung open.

An older woman in a long black dress slowly descended the steps with a silver cane in one hand, four personal guards following close behind.

The Family head who controlled New York’s underground fighting rings loosened his tie, the old scar along his neck stark beneath the sunlight.

A middle-aged man who controlled shipping routes along the East Coast stood there with a cigar between his lips, staring coldly at the four heirs across from him.

The senior adviser of the Family Council was the last to emerge, an obsidian ring symbolizing the highest seat gleaming on his chest.

Every single one of them stood at the very top of North America’s underworld.

Their cold gazes swept over Adrian and the others.

All four of them instinctively took half a step back.

What they couldn’t understand was why every one of these people immediately gathered around me.

“They laid a hand on our Grace.”

“This one’s on us. We should’ve watched her better. We let a handful of minor Families get near her.”

Adrian, Julian, Ethan, and Nolan exchanged uneasy looks.

For the first time, real fear began to show on their faces.

The Rossi Family alone was powerful enough to make them cautious.

But now this involved multiple people with enormous influence across politics, business, and the underworld.

Who exactly was Grace?

Before they could make sense of my identity, the crowd suddenly parted.

My mother, Victoria, strode toward me in a black suit.

She hadn’t even had time to dye her bright rainbow hair back yet, and the Moretti Family’s signature dark red rose tattoo was clearly visible along the side of her neck.

My father, Marco, walked beside her in a long black coat, casually spinning a gold-plated revolver in one hand.

His gaze was sharp and ice-cold.

The same Family leaders who had looked so imposing only moments ago lowered their heads at once.

“Mrs. Moretti. Mr. Rossi.”

Victoria didn’t look at anyone else.

Her eyes were fixed on Nolan.

She crossed the distance between them in a few long strides.

Years of commanding the Family had given her an authority so overwhelming that everyone around them fell silent.

Nolan’s legs started shaking.

He stumbled half a step backward before barely managing to steady himself.

“You’re the one who threatened me on the phone?”

Her voice was terrifyingly calm.

“The one who told me that if I ever raised another child, I ought to teach my daughter her place?”

Nolan’s gaze dropped to the dark red rose tattoo on her neck.

Then he looked at the gold-plated revolver in Marco’s hand, a weapon nearly everyone in the underworld recognized on sight.

At last, he realized who they were.

The Moretti Family.

A Mafia dynasty that had existed for centuries, with influence stretching across North America and Europe.

They controlled major shipping routes and security companies, while also holding enormous influence in political and financial circles.

They stood at the very top of the underworld hierarchy.

The Hawthorne Family couldn’t even begin to compare.

Even if all four of New York’s affiliated Families joined forces, they still wouldn’t qualify to sit in on a Moretti Family Council meeting.

Nolan’s legs finally gave out.

He dropped straight to his knees.

At the same time, Adrian, Julian, and Ethan’s phones all started ringing.

The three of them answered in panic.

Their fathers’ furious voices immediately exploded through the speakers.

“Who the hell did you offend? Every legitimate business tied to the Family has been frozen for the past ten minutes!”

“All our partners are terminating their agreements! The docks have been shut down, and the banks are refusing to extend our credit lines! Who the hell have you picked a fight with?”

The three heirs slowly looked up at Victoria.

Only then did they finally understand what kind of power they had crossed.

By that point, Marco had already raised his revolver.

The barrel pointed directly at Nolan’s forehead.

“You laid a hand on my daughter.”

His voice was deadly cold.

“Now you answer to the Moretti Family.”

His finger slowly tightened on the trigger.

“Mom. Dad.”

My voice came from behind them, so hoarse it was barely audible.
