Seeing me wake up, my parents both let out a unified sigh of relief.

Dad pulled me into a heavy hug, his broad palm patting my back as his booming voice echoed through the

air.

“I knew my girl would be fine! Born tough, just like her dad!”

Mom rolled her eyes from the side, cutting him down coldly. “Says the man who broke down sobbing at home and completely derailed your father’s birthday party.”

Dad muttered under his breath, “You weren’t any better-you almost passed out from panic the moment you

heard.”

I looked around.

All those intimidating heavyweights who had carried pure bloodlust moments ago were now smiling down at me with gentle, affectionate expressions.

I used my raspy voice to say, “Thank you, everyone. Sorry for causing so much trouble.”

Overlapping voices chimed in immediately.

“What are you saying, kiddo?”

“Anyone who messes with you messes with all of us!”

“You have our word, sweetie. We’ll make this right for you.”

A wave of warmth rushed through me.

I turned my attention to the four boys standing opposite us, their faces drained of life.

Amon was deathly pale.

Magnus looked completely lost.

Wayne, usually so sharp and calculating, had run out of every trick he knew.

And Asher was still on his knees, terrified to move a muscle.

My parents followed my gaze.

Dad narrowed his eyes. “Angie, how do you want to handle these four? Just say the word, and I’ll take care of

it.”

Mom didn’t say a word, casually spinning the revolver in her hand so the barrel swept past the four of them.

All four shuddered in unison.

Finally, Amon gritted his teeth. “Angie, do whatever you want to us. We accept it. Just don’t drag Yana into this.”

Wayne chimed in quickly. “Right! Yana knows nothing about this. We acted entirely on our own.”

They went back and forth, painting Yana as the picture of innocence and purity, so much so that even my

parents began to buy into it.

“Angie, sounds like that girl really had nothing to do with this.”

I thought for a moment before speaking. “Alright, I’ll make a bet with you four.”

All four raised their heads to look at me.

“Call Yana over. If she’s willing to take the blame for everything on your behalf, I’ll have my parents let you off the hook. Everything that happened will be wiped clean, and I won’t go after her either.”

“If she refuses, each of your four families hands over a third of your core assets as ransom for your lives.”

The four boys froze for a second before identical looks of relief washed over their faces.

They even exchanged triumphant looks, barely hiding their excitement.

Amon nodded right away, eager to seal the deal before I could change my mind. “Deal! You said it yourself!” Wayne smiled softly, “Yana is so sweet and kind. She’ll definitely step up to protect us.”

Magnus pulled out his phone, dialing her number with absolute certainty. “Yana would never stand by and watch us suffer.”

Asher pushed himself up off the ground, his face still pale, but a spark of confidence back in his eyes.

Ten minutes later, Yana appeared near the school gates.

Clearly terrified by the surrounding crowd, she hesitated at a distance.

I cleared my throat and laid out the terms clearly.

“Yana, these four went after me just to avenge you.”

“I can let them off completely-if you agree to take the fall for everything they did. Are you willing?”

I finished and held my gaze on her.

Amon, Wayne, Magnus, and Asher all turned toward her with burning hope in their eyes.

Amon’s lips were already curved in a confident smile.

Yana stood there stunned for a long moment, staring at the four of them.

Her lips trembled and her eyes turned red, looking as though she was the one being deeply wronged.

“No way. Why should I?”

The smiles on all four faces froze instantly.
