The Third Child Died, So Did the Wife He Wanted Chapter 06

The Third Child Died, So Did the Wife He Wanted Chapter 06

I squatted down, pressing the cold steel of the blade flat against her flushing cheek.

She began to tremble violently. At least that part wasn’t an act.

“When you bragged about slaughtering my children last night, you didn’t foresee this moment, did you?”

“You’re still far too soft, Amber. If I were you, I would have dumped my corpse into the ocean last night.”

Amber’s pupils shrunk into tiny pinpricks.

A collective gasp swept through the summit table.

Roxy slammed her hands down and stood up.

“Lady Alison, that is a catastrophic accusation to make without leverage.”

“I have all the leverage I need.”

I retracted the knife, pulled a high-end recording device from my trench coat, and pressed play.

Amber’s voice cut through the speaker, low and muffled, but perfectly captured by the military-grade microphone.

“I absolutely let those pirates in on purpose.”

“But without the Seaking’s direct clearance, who would dare step a single foot into these waters? If you know what’s good for you, pack your bags and leave.”

“Otherwise, I’ll make sure you end up exactly like your three children. Hacked into pieces.”

The recording clicked off.

Amber’s face went completely translucent, drained of all color.

Garrison froze entirely, turning into a statue.

I slid the recording device across the polished wood, pushing it toward the center of the sector leaders.

“Well? Did you all get that?”

I stood up, stepping back to the absolute head of the table.

The ocean wind blasted through the open windows, sending my cashmere coat billowing behind me.

“Garrison, when our first boy died, I begged for her life. Looking back, you never had any intention of killing her.”

“The entire execution threat was just a calculated play to move her directly into your inner circle.”

I paused, scanning the powerful faces in the room.

“Now, let me tell all of you exactly why my three children died back-to-back.”

“Because Amber needed to eliminate any rival bloodlines, and because Garrison needed the Vance family line completely extinguished.”

“Only when my children were all dead would my father’s reclamation deeds become permanently void. Only then could the East and West legally and permanently bear the Sterling name.”

“You’re goddamn lying!”

Garrison slammed his fist onto the table.

“If I wanted those sectors, would I need to butcher my own children? I am more than capable of taking them by force!”

“Yes, you did need to.”

I stared at him, biting out every word.

“Because you were never the king, Garrison. You were just the attack dog my father hired to guard his gates.”

“And when a guard dog wants to usurp the mansion, it has to slaughter every single one of the owner’s pups first.”

Garrison’s face flushed a violent, dark crimson.

His chest heaved erratically.

Amber suddenly broke away from the enforcers’ grip and threw herself at Garrison.

“Garrison, save me! She’s a psychopath! She’s completely lost her mind!”

Garrison instinctively reached down to pull her up.

That singular movement caused every eye in the hall to darken with realization.

Roxy slowly lowered herself back into her seat, her voice turning dangerously flat.

“Mr. Sterling… is the child in Amber’s womb actually yours?”

Garrison couldn’t form words.

Amber, however, protectively shielded her stomach, a fleeting flash of arrogance crossing her features.

I answered the room for them.

“Yes. And he explicitly commanded her to keep it a secret from me.”

I walked directly up to Garrison, forcing him to look at me.

He was a head taller than me, but my sheer presence crushed him flat against the deck.

“Garrison, do you know why my father chose you out of everyone?”

He remained mute.

“Because you were brutal, and you were a lethal fighter. He believed that brutality would be weaponized to protect me.”

“He just never anticipated that you would turn every ounce of that malice entirely onto me.”

I reached behind my back, drew the glock, and pressed the cold muzzle directly against Amber’s forehead.

Amber’s scream died instantly in her throat.

Garrison’s eyes went wide with terror.

“Alison! Put the gun down!”

“Are you terrified?”

“She’s pregnant! There’s an innocent child inside her!”

“So?”

My finger slowly tightened against the trigger.

“My three children—the oldest was five, the youngest was two.”

“When they were being butchered, did you stop to think for a single second that they were too young? That they hadn’t even had the chance to look out at this ocean yet?”

Garrison’s throat bobbed heavily as he swallowed hard.

He softened his tone, pleading.

“Alison, just lower the weapon.”

“I will handle Amber personally. I promise.”

“We can negotiate the sectors. Whatever assets you want, I will sign them over to you.”

“I want you dead.”

I stated it with absolute nonchalance. Garrison went entirely rigid.

I lowered the gun, taking a measured step backward.

“But I won’t waste a bullet on you today.”

“I want the leaders of the four sectors to watch exactly how a Seaking degrades into a common prisoner.”

I turned back to the executives, raising my voice to command the room.

“The Vance family hereby reclaims absolute sovereignty over the East and West. The North and South will remain as they are.”

“As for Garrison Sterling.”

“His reign is officially over.”

Frank and Marcus exchanged a knowing look, then stood up in unison.

“The East and North stand with Lady Alison.”

Roxy remained silent for a beat, then slowly rose to her feet.

“The South has no objections.”

“However, Garrison still controls three tactical battleships filled with highly trained mercenaries. How do you intend to neutralize that threat, my Lady?”

“Neutralize them?”
