The Sister Who Pushed Me, The Fate That Swallowed Her Chapter 08

The Sister Who Pushed Me, The Fate That Swallowed Her Chapter 08

They both went out the window. One after the other.

The women stared at me. None of them seemed to know what to make of what they’d just seen.

One of them crossed her arms. “Well. Looks like you settled right in.”

“They’re six–three, gorgeous, built, powerful, loyal, and completely devoted once they commit. Oh, and they’re required to get along with each other. Tell me what the downside is.”

I blinked at them, genuinely puzzled.

A few of them cracked. I sighed.

“Honestly? My biggest problem is narrowing down the list.”

When that many incredible men looked at you like you were the center of the universe, turning any of them down felt impossible.

Too bad a human body could only handle so much.

Gideon came back not long after.

“Audra.” Gideon’s face was grim. “I’m sorry. I couldn’t catch him.”

“It’s fine. I just wanted him gone.”

It would’ve been a waste to actually kill something that pretty.

Gideon didn’t say another word. He took me home.

He spent the next few days buried in wedding preparations.

When I saw the wedding gown, I threw my arms around him before I knew what I was doing.

“Gideon, you got me a New Terran wedding gown?”

In my last life, Derek had dressed me in traditional interstellar wedding attire. It looked incredible, but the

mech–inspired aesthetic wasn’t me.

“I sent my second–in–command to ask the other humans what New Terran brides wear. Then I had it

made.”

He took my hand and led me out of the estate.

Light scattered across a pink–sand beach like something out of a dream.

The beach was full of interstellar shifters who’d come to watch. Gideon had invited every human too.

Seeing those familiar faces was what finally made it feel real.

‘I’m sorry. Itried to find Derek’s cruiser. No signal. I couldn’t get Sloane here.”

The guilt in his voice caught me off guard.

Sloane’s name hit differently on a day like this.

I hadn’t heard anything about her. But knowing Derek, things weren’t going well for her.

The baby was probably already gone.

I wondered if she’d started regretting it yet.

“It’s fine.” I shook my head. “Sloane and I were never close.”

She’d killed me out of jealousy in our last life. I had no reason to think this time would be different.

Better for both of us if she stayed away.

The music started. Something familiar. Something from home.

Enoch stood in the crowd, looking jealous enough to combust. The second our eyes met, he winked.

Interstellar shifters really did have a death wish when it came to courting. Flirting at another man’s wedding, at Gideon’s wedding, took a special kind of reckless.

Gideon’s grip on my hand tightened. I looked away fast.

We said our vows in front of everyone.

Under interstellar law, Gideon transferred everything he owned to me. It was enough to buy a planet. My

hands shook.

Then came the real shock. He’d prepared three life crystals. And each of his five family members gave me

one of their own.

Gideon’s hand settled gently on my head.

“Audra, I’ll find more. As many as it takes. I’m not losing you to time.”

I caught the New Terran women watching. The ones who’d been the most resistant were suddenly very

quiet.

“Maybe marrying an interstellar man isn’t the worst thing. I mean, five hundred years?”

“Right? And they actually treat us well. They’ve even been helping the human men find their footing here.”

I heard them whispering and couldn’t help smiling.

It was all about choosing right. These people were good. Truly good.

Mom, Dad… are you watching?

This time, I actually get to be happy.

After the ceremony, Gideon handed the guests off to his parents.

But what Derek had done to me in my last life hadn’t gone away just because I came back.

The thought of being touched like that still made everything in me lock up.

Gideon never pushed.
