The Single Mom Who Toyed With Married Men Chapter 09

The Single Mom Who Toyed With Married Men Chapter 09

By the next morning, the whole building was talking.

The police came, took statements, calmed everyone down, and left. Mitchell, Harrison, and the others pooled

thirty thousand together for the door and damages. But there was no keeping a thing like this quiet.

I posted the doorbell camera footage straight to the building group chat.

It blew up instantly.

Mr. Davis followed up with an official notice from building management. The short version: the tenant of unit

603 had been involved in repeated disturbances that disrupted the community. Management had contacted

the landlord and requested early termination of the lease. Chloe had thirty days to move out.

A few of the wives Chloe had driven off got added back to the chat. Nobody took credit for it.

The messages came fast and furious.

[FINALLY. That woman’s behavior drove me out of my own home. I’ve been staying with my sister for six months! Going back today, and I’m popping champagne.]

[Karma’s a bitch! A sugar baby pretending to be a struggling single mom, going after other women’s husbands? She got exactly what she deserved.]

The men who used to trip over each other to check on Chloe? Not a peep. Not even a thumbs-up emoji.

I sat on the couch scrolling through the chat, coffee in hand.

Nathaniel came back from his run and leaned over my shoulder.

“Think that’ll do it?” He toweled off his face. “She’s done. No way she stays after this. She’ll be gone by the

end of the week.”

I set down my coffee and shook my head.

“It’s not that simple.” I watched the sunlight shift across the window. “Someone like Chloe lives and dies by

her image. The whole building just saw her humiliated in public. She’s not going to look in the mirror and

think she deserved it. She’s going to look at me and decide I destroyed her.”

“You think she’ll come for you?” Nathaniel’s face hardened.

“Worse than that.” I almost smiled. “She wants to take me down with her.”

I barely got the words out before it started: screaming outside our door, then something heavy slamming

against it.
