Leith held my hand as we returned to Halcroft House

The moment Elspeth saw us, her eyes dropped to our joined hands

“So you two are together now?”

I nodded.

Corbett came downstairs and noticed too.

He looked at Elspeth.

“See? I told you Leith would never hurt Tavia.”

We didn’t stay long.

Leith and I caught a flight back to Larkhaven that afternoon.

The moment we landed, I received a call from an unfamiliar number.

“Tavi, it’s Madox.”

“Why did you block my number and remove me from everything?”

I turned toward Leith.

He looked back at me with the most innocent expression imaginable.

“Sorry, Madox. I must’ve hit something by accident.”

After hanging up, I narrowed my eyes at Leith.

“Anything you’d like to explain?”

He pulled out his phone.

Outside Mariston Hall, Leith stopped before we went our separate ways.

He typed slowly.

That evening, Madox offered to walk me back again.

I shook my head.

“No, thanks. Someone’s coming for me.”

Leith walked toward us.

“We’re together now.”
