The Senator’s Daughter Is Now the CEO They Need Chapter 35

They were too indifferent to waste any thought on me.

But Julian was different.

He truly hated me.

It was a hatred too deep to be simple favoritism.

His eyes reddened.

“That’s not what I mean,” he almost shouted.

The smile on my face slowly faded.

Julian closed his eyes, as if forcing each word out.

“Back then… the clinic didn’t make a mistake. It was me… I was the one who destroyed the embryo.”

I stood there, unable to process what he was saying.

At the time, Julian had been the Davis family’s only child, the center of their universe.

Then our parents decided to use surrogacy to bring their last frozen embryo to term.

Relatives and family friends loved to tease him about it.

“Julian,” they would laugh, “once your little sister arrives, Mom and Dad won’t just revolve around you anymore.”

Julian held onto those words for years.

He began to live in fear of them.

He feared that this child, not yet even formed, would steal his place, his parents’ attention, and his inheritance.

It just so happened that before the embryo was to be implanted, the clinic was undergoing a security system overhaul.
