The Senator’s Daughter Is Now the CEO They Need Chapter 27

“Of course! I carried you for ten months and gave birth to you!”

“Good.” I nodded, then turned to address the guests, as well as my father’s legal team. “Then allow me to explain something very simple.”

My tone was even.

“In the surrogacy contract the Davis family signed with you, there was a lifetime confidentiality agreement. An NDA. The agreement states very clearly that neither party may disclose any information related to the surrogacy. The penalty for breach of contract is in the seven figures.”

Sarah’s face changed.

I wasn’t finished.

“Furthermore, fabricating facts in a public setting with the intent to damage another person’s reputation is, by legal definition, defamation.”

I paused, my gaze sweeping over to Olivia in the crowd.

Her face had gone pale.

“And if someone intentionally induced you to breach a valid contract, and then used you to destroy another person’s reputation, that is called tortious interference.”

I looked back at Sarah.

“So, you might want to think very carefully before you speak again.” I walked toward her, step by step. “Are you certain you want to face a massive lawsuit, not to mention further legal trouble, all for this little performance?”

“I… I didn’t…” Sarah was clearly panicking. Her eyes darted around, as if searching for a lifeline.

“Didn’t what?” I stared at her. “No one instructed you? Or was everything you just said a lie? There are many lawyers here tonight. Every word you say can and will be used as formal testimony.”

Sarah’s lips began to tremble.

The next second, as if grabbing at her last hope, she suddenly raised her hand and pointed into the crowd.

“It was her!” she shrieked. “She told me to come!”
