The Senator’s Daughter Is Now the CEO They Need Chapter 05

The family’s Uber account was never reinstated.

It was as if they had completely forgotten about it.

I didn’t bother reminding them. Calling my own car between the Upper East Side and Columbia every day was easier anyway.

The only annoyance was occasionally running into Julian on the road.

My father had been busy, so the task of chauffeuring Olivia had fallen to him.

Ever since he’d learned I was taking my own car to school, his expression had soured.

His black BMW M8 would suddenly appear on my route. Sometimes he would deliberately block my car before rolling down his window.

“Well, well, if it isn’t our future legal elite,” he would say, his eyes hidden behind sunglasses. “Reduced to riding in a regular town car, are we?”

Olivia, sitting in the passenger seat, would let out a soft, well-practiced laugh.

That day, he did it again.

At a red light, he pulled up beside me.

“Want me to spot you some cash, Chloe? We wouldn’t want people thinking the Davis family is mistreating you.”

I smiled back.

Before he could step on the gas, I raised my hand and emptied the iced Americano I was holding straight through his open window.
