The Seat Beside The Mafia Heir Chapter 07

The Seat Beside The Mafia Heir Chapter 07

At the hotel, Lorenzo said he had something to handle and told me to wait in the lobby.

I’d barely sat down when I saw Matteo.

He saw me too.

Three months apart, and the shock in his eyes was unmistakable.

“Gia, you’ve changed a lot.”

I didn’t want to talk. I turned to leave.

He followed me, voice low.

“The Conti Family still does business with Valenti. I’m here for my father.”

I didn’t respond.

Matteo kept going, like he’d finally found an opening.

“Gia, I was wrong.”

His voice softened.

“I never stopped loving you. Serena was just a stand-in. She reminded me of you in the beginning. I was weak.”

My stomach turned.

“I can give you the wedding you wanted. The Conti name. Whatever date you choose.”

A promise made too late is worthless.

I didn’t want to hear any of it.

But he kept following me, like he expected me to still be waiting.

Then Lorenzo walked back in.

The air went cold instantly.

Matteo started bringing up the past, the university gala, the seven years, how I was supposed to become a Conti wife.

I was sick of it.

After a brief silence, I took Lorenzo’s hand and placed it over my stomach.

“Lorenzo, I’m pregnant. Three months.”

The lobby went dead quiet.

Lorenzo’s expression shifted from shock to barely hidden joy.

Matteo’s face went pale.

Lorenzo pulled me against him.

“So, are you ready to take the Valenti name?”

I blinked.

“Sounds good. I’ll think about it.”

Matteo lost it.

He kicked over a chair, and the sound drew stares from nearby

guests.

“Three months? We broke up three months ago!”

His expression twisted.

“Gia, if I’d known you’d climb into Valenti’s bed that fast, I wouldn’t have shown you so much respect. Were you already involved with him? Were you just pretending to be untouchable with me?”

People were staring.

Lorenzo stepped in front of me.

His voice was cold, like a final warning.

“Conti. You’re on Valenti ground. Watch your mouth.”

Matteo tried to step forward.

Lorenzo’s two made men blocked him.

Serena pushed through the crowd. She looked just as surprised to see Matteo.

She tried to pull him away.

But the wedding ceremony was about to start.

In the middle of all the chaos, Lorenzo didn’t wait for the master of ceremonies.

He signaled to one of his men in the corner.

The main screen lit up.

Photos began cycling: Serena with two different men.

One was Matteo. Holding hands. Hugging. Kissing.

The other was Rocco Santoro.

A kiss. A secret civil marriage certificate.

I grabbed Lorenzo’s sleeve.

“That marriage certificate is real?”

He took my hand.

“Real.”

He said he’d made sure Rocco couldn’t find out about Matteo before the wedding.

Rocco proposed. Serena said yes.

She’d married into the Santoro Clan without telling Matteo, thinking she’d married her way into real power.

I almost laughed.

This woman had turned “keeping every option open” into a competition.

Lorenzo led me to a corner.

“Don’t rush. The bill’s just starting to add up.”

For the next hour, the wedding turned into a full family disaster.
