The Perfect Score That Cost Me Everything Chapter 05

His breath was trembling. “I said I wouldn’t see her again, why can’t you just leave a young girl alone!”

I was stunned for two seconds, and when I realized what was happening, I felt an

irony.

uncontrollable

He didn’t notice the blood blooming on the back of my hand where he’d yanked me; I didn’t care either, I just broke free.

I was full of sarcasm and mockery.

“Don’t pin everything on me!”

“If she’s missing, call the police. Instead of interrogating me, why don’t you go play along with her little act!”

He shook his head, looking very disappointed.

“That’s a living human being. How can you be so dismissive? I’m asking one more time: where is she!”

I met his gaze with absolute coldness.

“I don’t know.”

Julian took a deep breath. “Fine, great. Sienna Sterling, today is the day I finally see your true colors.”

“How heartless you really are!”

With that, he turned and left, his back radiating disgust.

The hospital room fell silent, save for the cold wind whistling outside.

“Ha…”

I let out a cold, mocking laugh. The last shred of hope was shattered. With my blood-stained hand, I picked up the phone.

“Prepare the divorce settlement. Immediately.”

“Notify the Sterling Board: we are withdrawing all capital from the Vance Group. Terminate all

partnerships and seize every project for ourselves!”

Julian left in a rage, slamming on the gas.

He hired a private investigator to find Melody.

“Make it fast.”

Sitting in his Maybach, he punched the steering wheel a few seconds later, his brow full of hostility.

He didn’t understand why Sienna was so targeted toward Melody, especially after he’d explained she was like a sister to him.

Wasn’t it enough that she was the only wife he ever recognized?

Julian took a deep breath, looking exhausted.

He was also worried if a girl just starting out in the world like Melody would be scared.

Soon, news came from the investigator.

“Based on her phone’s GPS, she’s at an abandoned factory on the outskirts. I’ve sent you the location.”

Julian’s eyes sharpened. Without a second thought, he sped toward the location.

A one-hour drive was compressed into 20 minutes.

Bursting in, he saw Melody tied to a stone pillar, her mouth taped shut, her hair a mess, looking utterly bedraggled.

“*Muffled cries*!”

Seeing Julian, Melody’s eyes widened, and tears streamed down.

“It’s okay, you’re safe.”

He untied the ropes and gently peeled off the tape, and Melody immediately threw herself into his

arms.

“Julian, *sob*, why does Mrs. Vance do this to me? What did I do wrong to deserve this?”

Julian looked around, finding it strange.

Where were the kidnappers?

But there was no time to overthink it; he hurriedly took the hysterical Melody to the car.

He took her home, where she tearfully took a shower.

She looked at him with wet hair, her eyes still filled with the fear of the kidnapping.

“Julian, I’m scared. Can you stay here tonight? I’m afraid those people might…”

Julian sighed.

Since it was something his wife had supposedly orchestrated, he felt he had to clean up the mess He nodded.

“Rest easy. I won’t leave.”

He took off his suit jacket and sat nearby. Melody smirked secretly and snapped a photo of him with

his jacket off.

She sent an iMessage directly to Sienna.

The framing made it look like a prelude to something intimate.

“Mrs. Vance, Julian is with me tonight. I told you, he will be mine.

She wasn’t afraid of Sienna telling on her.

At worst, she’d just say it was another frame-up; Julian would believe her anyway.

She had that confidence.

Thinking this, Melody gripped the man’s sleeve and drifted off to sleep with a smug expression.

Meanwhile, in the darkness, Julian was far from sleep.

He glanced at the sleeping Melody, frowned, pulled his sleeve from her hand, and walked to the

balcony.

He called the investigator.

“Investigate thoroughly who kidnapped Melody today and who was behind it.”

This morning, his anger had clouded his judgment, leading him to lash out at Sienna.

Now that he thought about it, there wasn’t a single shred of evidence linking her to the kidnapping.

Julian pinched his brow in exhaustion.

He was starting to regret it.
