The Mafia’s Forgotten Daughter. The Desert King’s Jewel Chapter 06

“Of course!” I twirled the ring between my fingers. “The Al-Nassar family doesn’t need alliances. We need obedience. Just like your underworld rules, right?”

“It’s a test.”

Camille nodded. “Fine!”

Rafael froze, his hand pulling back in disbelief. “Camille, what are you saying? She’s forcing you, isn’t she? You still have me! Even if the Vescari family falls, as long as we’re together—”

Camille’s voice cut through the air like shattered glass.

“Rafael, don’t be so naive!”

“If the Vescari family had no power in the underworld, do you think I’d play your sister all these years?”

“Those men who supposedly attacked me? I hired them. You believed me for ten years—how stupid can you be!”

Rafael went pale.

“You… you…” His hands were shaking. “So Monica never bullied you? It was all a setup?”

He turned to me, guilt crushing his face. “Why didn’t you tell me back then?”

I laughed bitterly.

“Didn’t I tell you? All of you?”

“That night, I screamed until my throat bled, cried until I passed out. And what did you do? You slapped me. Called me evil.”

“Did you believe me even once?”

Rafael hung his head, tears hitting the floor. He slapped himself hard across the face.

“I’m the trash. I’m sorry.”

Victor clutched his chest, rage making him unsteady.

“You—we raised you! How could you!”

He raised his cane and swung it at Camille.

Elena rushed in front of her. “You deserve this! Don’t you touch my child!”

Victor’s eyes narrowed—for once, the Don’s sharpness surfaced. “You two… already reunited, didn’t you!”

Camille dropped all pretense. “Yeah. Otherwise, how could a ten-year-old have pulled all this off alone?”

“But so what? It was all a long time ago.”

Victor turned to me, guilt and hope mixing in his eyes. “Monica, Daddy was deceived. That’s why I treated you that way.”

“Can you forgive me? We’re your real family!”

He reached out his hand toward me.

I pulled away.

“You want forgiveness? Dream on! I will never forgive you!”

One sentence shattered his fantasy completely.

Maybe Camille’s lies started it all. But if they had cared—truly cared—one investigation would have uncovered everything.

Now? They were strangers to me.

Camille wiped the tears off her face and stood up. “Monica, I did what you said.”

She held out her hand, like she’d finally become a beggar.

I clapped slowly—dripping with sarcasm. “Well done. What a beautiful performance, betraying your own family.”

Camille’s face lit up with triumph.

But the next second—

My palm cracked across her face. “That’s your reward!”

She looked up at me, stunned. “You lied to me?”

I brushed off my fingers. “Oh, so that’s what lying feels like? I thought you’d recognize it right away, since you’re so good at it.”

My eyes were nothing but cold.

Every single one of them would pay.

Camille lost it. “You bitch! I’ll kill you!”

She lunged like a madwoman—but a soldier kicked her back. She hit the ground, coughing up blood.

Then she crawled toward my brother. “Zayn, save me. I’ll be good. I can give you children—I can give you heirs—”

But Zayn looked at her like she was rotting meat.

She turned to Rafael, trembling and begging. “Rafael, she forced me! None of that was true!”

The same disgust.

“Don’t abandon me—I’m your sister!” She grabbed Rafael’s pant leg.

Rafael kicked her off. Then another kick, and another—wild, vicious, like he was purging ten years of poison.

“I was blind. You played me like a fool!”

“Without you, I never would have lost Monica—she’s my real sister!”

“From tonight on, you have nothing to do with the Vescari family!”

I stood to the side, watching coldly.

Not so fast. The Vescari family wouldn’t last much longer either.

Zayn was done with all of it. He opened his mouth and gave the final order.

“Full-scale takedown of the Vescari family. From tonight on, anyone who associates with them is an enemy of the Al-Nassars!”

Victor slammed his cane down.

“Who dares! You little brat isn’t qualified to—”

“He’s not qualified? Then what about me?”

A deep, commanding voice came from the shadows. An overwhelming presence crashed over the room like a tidal wave.
