I was utterly speechless. I didn’t know whether to be furious or laugh at the sheer audacity of it. 

How could someone say such brazen words so calmly? 

My phone vibrated again. 

[So when are we going to talk about you leading me on then leaving me behind?] 

I fell utterly speechless. 

It felt utterly absurd hearing those words come out of 

his mouth. 

The head of the Santini Group, a tycoon who held sway over both legitimate and underworld circles–how could he describe himself like this? 

I took a deep breath and typed out a reply. 

[Don, what exactly are you trying to do?] 

[Isn’t it obvious? I want you to take responsibility for 

me.] 

I had no retort left. 

I simply tossed my phone aside and ignored it 

altogether. 

Maybe it was the frustration, but I was plagued by nightmares all night. 

I dreamed Vincenzo found out about the pregnancy, 

chased me to the airport, dragged me back, and locked 

me up. 

“Serena, first you lead me on and abandon me, and 

now you want to run off with my child?” 

I woke up drenched in cold sweat. 

I was jolted awake by a phone call soon after. 

Vivian’s voice was grave over the line. “Are you at 

home?” 

Still dazed from the nightmare, I mumbled, “Yeah, 

why?” 

Vivian paused briefly. “Your pregnancy has been leaked online. Don’t go out anywhere for the time being.” 

I sat bolt upright, all traces of sleep vanishing 

instantly. 

I opened social media, and the news of my pregnancy

What’s there to hide? She’s not a homewrecker. It’s 

normal to keep a pregnancy private, no need to

We just defended her, and now this drops to prove us

Santini family?? Could it be Vincenzo himself? 

Quit joking. A man of his stature would never look twice 

at a celebrity actress. 

Why not? Serena’s talented, has acting skills, solid 

works and awards to her name. 

It’s not about being good enough–it’s about being in completely different social circles. Do people really 

think old money families marry Hollywood starlets? 

Stop arguing. Isn’t the bigger issue that Vincenzo is already married?

Vivian’s voice remained steady.

“Someone clearly planned this in advance, laying out 

the whole timeline just to throw you under the bus.” 

Sensing my low mood, Vivian softened her tone. 

“The pregnancy news alone is manageable. The real 

trouble is the malicious rumors that followed.” 

“If Don Santini is willing to issue a clarification, this whole mess can be sorted out easily.” 

“Should I reach out to him for you?” 

Before I could reply, Vivian’s tone suddenly shifted.

statement.”
