The Lycan King’s Stolen Luna: Faking Amnesia to Revenge My Alpha Chapter 06

The Lycan King’s Stolen Luna: Faking Amnesia to Revenge My Alpha Chapter 06

I looked out the window. Pitch black.

It was past nine.

I was about to reply that I was already asleep when another text flashed:

[Ethan and Marcus are here too. Ethan’s pretty wasted. Want to come pick him up?]

I stared at the screen. If… this could be my chance.

Even if I was going to tear our mate bond apart, I needed to say it to his face.

[Okay,] I replied.

The Onyx Den.

“So Ethan, how long are you planning to play around with that little secretary?”

Marcus’s voice cut through the crack in the VIP room door, making me freeze right outside.

“Another month or so.”

“And then your amnesia miraculously cures itself?”

Marcus’s teasing laugh hit my ears like a serrated blade driving straight into my chest.

My entire body turned to ice.

I stared through the gap at the man inside, utterly paralyzed.

He was swirling a glass of red wine, lounging on the couch with his legs spread, looking every bit the sophisticated Alpha.

That face belonged to the man who used to swear he loved me more than life itself. But now, he casually muttered, “Just wanted a change of pace.”

“Fair enough. Might as well taste the field while you’re supposedly brain-damaged. It’s not like anyone can call you out on it!”

Marcus’s words were laced with a smirk.

My knuckles turned white against the doorknob. All the blood rushed to my head, fueled by a blinding, suffocating rage.

Humiliation, betrayal, and pure disgust tore through me, threatening to burn away the last of my sanity.

Suddenly, Ryan’s eyes flicked toward the door, locking right onto mine.

My heart leaped. I was just about to throw the door open and confront them, but Ryan smoothly broke eye contact, looking back at Ethan. “If you’re sick of the mate bond, you could just break it. Why play these pathetic games?”

I froze again, my hand still on the handle.

Was Ryan… baiting him for me?

“That’s a bit harsh,” Ethan said, meeting Ryan’s gaze with a shrug. “I have no intention of replacing my Luna.”

He paused, adding, “I love Elena.”

Hearing that word come out of his mouth made me want to throw up.

“If you love her, why lie to her? Don’t you think you’re a piece of shit?”

Ethan considered Ryan a friend, so he didn’t take the question as an insult. Since it was just the guys, he decided to be completely honest. “Like Marcus said, you can love a dish, but if you eat it every single day for ten years, it gets bland.”

“Women are the same. Elena is my favorite she-wolf, sure, but she’s pushing thirty. She can’t compete with girls in their early twenties.”

“Those college girls are wild, they know all the tricks. Once you try it, you realize younger is just better.”

Ethan sighed, swirling his wine. “Honestly, I envy you and Marcus. Wish I was still single.”

I couldn’t believe my ears.

These disgusting words were actually coming out of Ethan’s mouth.

Staring at the creature inside, I couldn’t map him onto the devoted mate I had loved for a decade. He was filthy. Completely unrecognizable.

As I watched him morph into a monster before my eyes, something inside me snapped. Dead.

Ten years. We had given each other our entire youth.

My picture-perfect marriage was nothing but a rotting carcass crawling with maggots.

I never pushed the door open.

By the time I stumbled down to my car, my face was drenched in tears.

I gripped the steering wheel at a major intersection, my chest heaving, unable to calm down.

Out of the corner of my eye, I saw a flash of green.

Without even looking properly, my foot slammed on the gas.

A massive semi-truck suddenly barreled around the turn. I yanked the wheel, and with a deafening crash, my car smashed into the concrete barrier.

Before my world went black, I faintly saw a man’s shadow sprinting toward me in absolute panic.

When I opened my eyes again, I was back at the pack hospital.

Aside from a pounding headache and a wave of dizziness, I was fine.

The nurse pulled the IV out of my arm and smiled. “Your mate stayed by your side all night. He just stepped out for a second, he’ll be right back.”

“Okay,” I murmured, staring blankly at the harsh sunlight streaming through the window.

The nurse picked up her metal tray and opened the door, stopping when a tall, strikingly handsome man appeared in the doorway.

She turned back to me with a grin. “See? Your mate is back with breakfast!”

I slowly lifted my head and locked eyes with Ryan.

He was dressed simply in a black shirt and dark jeans, but an undeniable aura of absolute power and dominance rolled off him.

Even if you didn’t know his name, you could tell with one look that he ruled whatever room he walked into.

The sharp, clean lines of his jaw, his impossibly broad shoulders, and the lean, powerful build hidden beneath his dark clothes.

This man was a thousand times—no, ten thousand times better than Ethan.

My heart rate violently spiked.

Recalling the nurse’s mistake when she called him my “Mate,” a sudden, wicked flash of malice and resolve sparked in my mind.

Inside me, Mia woke up, letting out a dark, satisfied howl that perfectly mirrored my new ambition.

A dangerous plan took root in my mind.

Ryan closed the door behind him and walked over, holding a takeout bag. He was entirely alone.

The elegant Lycan King stopped at my bedside, looking down at me with unhidden worry bleeding through his voice.

“Are you in any pain?”

My heart hammered against my ribs.

I tilted my head slightly, looking up at him like a completely lost, innocent deer.

“Are you my mate?”
