The Loser Ex-Wife Came Back Hot Chapter 20

‘Here.”

Alaric handed her a folded piece of paper. During the passing periods, he had analyzed her physical condition and drafted a comprehensive fitness plan. If she stuck to it, dropping twenty pounds in a month was highly

ealistic.

Since it was their junior year, the academic pressure was brutal, and the school’s mandatory physical education courses already required heavy exertion. If she stayed disciplined, she could easily be back down to one hundred forty pounds before finals.

You wrote all this up already?”

Nova was genuinely impressed. She scanned the meticulous schedule. It detailed exactly what she needed to eat, her daily water intake, and specific exercise reps.

Weight loss isn’t about starving yourself,” Alaric explained flatly. “You Darely ate anything at dinner. You need to fill up on healthy greens like cucumbers, tomatoes, and squash. But never eat until you’re stuffed. You should always go to bed feeling slightly hungry.”

Nova noded, trying to absorb the information.

lightly overwhelmed expression, he paused. “I’ll be

g you every day. You don’t need to memorize it.”

ng that, Nova nodded enthusiastically like a bobblehead.

rom a shadowed corner of the patio, Mr. and Mrs. Donald were practically stacked on top of each other, spying through the glass doors. They watched Alaric pacing the edge of the pool, supervising Nova’s laps

in total silence.

“What is going on?” Mrs. Donald whispered. “Are they really just working

out?”

‘She’s been working out like crazy all week,” Mr. Donald muttered, equally confused. “Why does she need the Langdon kid to watch her?”

‘Do you think she’s finally moved on? Did she drop Caleb and fall for

Alaric instead?”

‘Those Langdon boys just have a look about them, don’t they? Always seducing our little girl!”

The parents were so caught up in their dramatic whispering that they didn’t realize their voices were echoing right across the water.

Nova popped her head out of the pool, splashing water from her eyes. ‘Mom? Dad? What are you doing?”

Caught red-handed, they shuffled out of the shadows, wearing painfully ake smiles. “We… we just brought you kids some fruit! You know, in case you need a break!”

Oh, absolutely!” Mr. Donald chimed in eagerly. “And if swimming gets boring, the home gym upstairs has tons of equipment!”

They were grinning so hard it looked painful.

Nova immediately knew her parents had gotten the wrong idea. Alaric was highly perceptive, and from the faint red flush crawling up the back of his neck, he had clearly picked up on their wild assumptions too. He sharply turned his head away.

Pulling herself out of the water, Nova took the fruit platter from her nother. “Thanks, Mom. Now go back inside! Stop staring!”

‘Oh, honey,” Mrs. Donald winked. “We’re just trying to help!”

‘I don’t need your help!”

Nova practically shooed them back into the house. Taking a deep breath, she turned back to Alaric. “So… back to the laps.”

She tried to play it cool and slipped back into the water, but internally, she

was mortified.

Her original plan had been purely strategic. Knowing that Alaric would eventually reclaim his birthright as the eldest son of Harborview’s wealthiest dynasty, The Garrison Family, she wanted to secure an alliance. Plus, he had saved her life, and she couldn’t stand watching him suffer under his abusive family.

How did this suddenly turn into her parents thinking she had a raging crush on him?

What must he be thinking?

Sure enough, when she breached the surface again, she found Alaric’s somber, predatory gaze locked intensely onto hers.
