The Intern Punishes Her Billionaire Boss Chapter 12 Dreamscape Reborn

With Mrs. Cole gone, the last lingering distraction in the company vanished. Over the following week. I launched a sweeping, no-holds-barred reform across the entire firm-swift and uncompromising, like a thunderbolt cutting through the fog.

First, personnel. I made an unprecedented move: promoting Leo, the Design Department director who’d – always been diligent and exceptional, to acting CEO, putting him in full charge of the company’s daily operations. At the same time, I elevated several senior employees-those who’d stood their ground, worked tirelessly, and remained loyal throughout the recent turmoil-to management positions in every department.

The news sent a surge of excitement through the company. Core talents who’d grown disheartened under Julian’s oppression, some even on the verge of resigning, found new hope. The company’s cohesion reached an all-time high.

Second, internal protocols. I abolished all unreasonable red tape and reinstated the human-centered management style we’d once prided ourselves on. I told every employee plainly: I didn’t want them wasting time on meaningless clock-punching or superficial formalities. Results were all that mattered. As long as they delivered high-quality work on time, they could even work from home if they wanted.

I also brought back the perks Julian had taken away-office snacks, company retreats, and holiday bonuses. To top it off, I announced that bonuses for the quarter would be doubled for every single employee. The office erupted in prolonged cheers and applause, warm and genuine, echoing off the walls.

People’s hearts were slowly returning, piece by piece. The trust I’d worked so hard to build years ago wasn’t lost forever-it just needed a little nurturing.

Finally, and most crucially, business. I personally led Leo to meet the founder of CloudHaven. He was a young man with a sharp mind and an almost obsessive passion for design. We talked for an entire afternoon -diving into architectural structures, spatial aesthetics, and material applications. I shared every insight and lesson I’d gained from a decade in design, holding nothing back.

When we stood to leave, he took my hand, his gaze sincere and unwavering. “Ms. Hale, I’ve reached out to over a dozen top design firms at home and abroad. You’re the only one who truly gets me. I’m entrusting this project to you, without a single doubt.”

We signed the contract on the spot. The project value: 100 million yuan. It was the largest single order Dreamscape Design had ever secured.

When word made its way back to the company, the place erupted. All the gloom and uncertainty vanished in an instant. Everyone was fired up, brimming with energy and drive. The Dreamscape that had once been bursting with vitality and creativity was finally back.

That night, for the first time in ages, I didn’t work overtime. I returned to the home I’d neglected for so long spacious, yet empty. For ten years, I’d poured every minute of my time and every ounce of my energy into the company, leaving almost no room for a life of my own.

I poured myself a glass of red wine and walked out to the balcony. The city’s night sky glittered like a sea of stars. Maybe those three years of “stepping back” weren’t entirely a mistake. They’d forced me to see human nature clearly, to reexamine myself and what I truly wanted. I’d built Dreamscape, but it shouldn’t be the entire sum of my life. From now on, I needed to learn to live for myself.

My phone rang-it was Leo. “Ms. Hale, I’m sorry to bother you so late. But I have great news: Mr. Cartér from Vancove referred another client to us-a cultural landmark project in the southern part of the city. They specifically asked for Dreamscape.”

“Good, I see.” I smiled, my voice lighter than it had been in months. “Leo, from now on, you make the calls on things like this. I trust you.”

After hanging up, I took a sip of wine, staring out at the countless lights of the city below. I felt a lightness in my chest I hadn’t experienced in years.

The final verdict for Julian and Ivy came down soon after. On multiple charges, Julian was sentenced to twelve years in prison; Ivy, as an accomplice, got three. They’d paid the most painful price for their greed and foolishness.

And I, at last, could let go of the past and start a new life.
