The Hypnotized Stand-In Has Awakened—the True Heiress Is Terrified Chapter 02

Adrian’s message popped up almost instantly.

[I’m here. Go ahead.]

My no-makeup selfie and the carefully typed-out backstory were sitting in the draft, ready to send. But I hesitated.

We had only been talking for two months. We hadn’t even exchanged real names.

Why would he believe me? That Blair could use hypnotic manipulation, that there was such a thing as a “female lead’s halo”?

If he didn’t believe me and thought I was some kind of scammer, he might block me on the spot.

And if that happened, I would lose the only weapon capable of dealing with Blair.

Because in this story, the only person who could suppress the heroine’s halo… was Adrian Whitmore.

So I had to make him see it with his own eyes, hear it with his own ears. I had to leave him no choice but to believe.

I racked my brain, digging through every detail of the plot.

At this point in the story, Adrian’s rebellious younger brother was looking for a private tutor.

An idea formed instantly.

I deleted everything in the message box and started typing again.

“It’s nothing serious. I just suddenly missed you.”

“I really want to see you soon.”

I sent the messages.

The next second, I opened a job app.

I applied to every top-tier tutoring agency near the Whitmore Estate.

In the original story, Blair didn’t find out the truth right away.

A month later, she discovered that my online boyfriend was Adrian, a top-tier heir from an old-money family.

Before that, I just needed to get into the Whitmore household.

Once I was in, everything else would follow.

I’d just finished firing off my applications when Blair came out of the bathroom.

She dried her hair as she spoke, “Oh right. Have your online boyfriend transfer another hundred thousand. I’ve got my eye on a bag.”

I put on a troubled look. “We’ve been asking too often lately. Mr. A’s already annoyed…”

“Mr. A” was the name he used on his messaging app.

Blair’s expression darkened.

I quickly added, “But my birthday’s coming up. I’ll get him to send a big amount then. I’ll give all of it to you.”

“That’s more like it.” She settled back into her chair, sounding utterly entitled.

“The reason he sends you money is because of my face.”

“So that money was meant for me in the first place, not you.”

Over the past two months, every time Adrian sent me money, Blair made me transfer every last cent to her. Altogether, it was already close to five million.

I said nothing. I simply looked down, hiding every trace of emotion.

No rush. Every last cent she’d swallowed—I’d make her cough it all back up. With interest.
