The Girl the Pack Treated as a Joke Was Actually a Powerful White Wolf Chapter 08

Three days later, banners and schedules for the freshman convocation were plastered across every notice

board.

When Mia burst into our dorm, she nearly sent the weapons rack crashing to the floor.

“Lyra, holy shit-get down there!” Mia gasped, gripping the doorframe. “Some woman is causing a massive

scene claiming she’s your mother, with a weeping girl glued to an Alpha’s arm!”

She sucked in a sharp breath, throwing me an incredulous look.

“The Alpha told Academy Security he’s your fiancé, and they’re claiming family guest access to the

convocation.”

Again.

And he hadn’t come alone.

He had dragged my so-called parents into this circus too.

By the time I reached the stage wings for the induction lineup, the auditorium was packed with cadets and commanding officers.

Before the staff could call the room to order, the heavy double doors at the rear burst open.

Nolan strode down the center aisle in a tailored navy suit, carrying a hundred crimson roses.

Tailing close behind were my parents and Serena.

The four of them marched down the center carpet as if gracing a banquet with their presence.

Nolan came to a halt right in front of the elevated stage, tilting his chin up toward me where I stood by the speakers’ podium.

“Lyra. I’m here to take you home.”

Right on cue, my mother let out a loud, shuddering sob that echoed off the vaulted ceiling.

“Lyra, baby, look at me! We were unfair to you, we know, but stop punishing us like this! Have a heart-forgive your family and come home!”

She made a frantic move toward the stage, only for two Academy guards to block her path with crossed halberds.

Serena clung to Nolan’s sleeve, dabbing delicately at her lashes, her small shoulders trembling.

“Lyra, if you’re angry, take it out on me-just don’t break Mom and Dad’s hearts like this! They gave you everything, and Nolan supported you through it all. How could you just walk away?”

The murmurs through the auditorium instantly turned sharp and speculative.

“Wait, is she from an Omega-tier family?”

“Her entire pack family showed up… what did she do?”

“Her Alpha fiancé funded her whole life, and she cut him off the second she got into RCA?”

I reached out, unhooked the microphone from the podium stand, and stepped over to the main terminal controlling the overhead screens.

“Instructors. Fellow cadets.”

My voice resonated through the house speakers, calm and steady.

“Since everyone is here, I’d like to tell a quick story about control and entitlement.”

The rehearsed warmth on Nolan’s face faltered.

I didn’t give him a glance.

I tapped the podium console, killing the welcome display.

The massive tactical screens overhead flared to life with three brutal scans: the group chat where they planned my wild goose chase, my torn birthright from the Ravenbrook ledger, and the morning’s wire receipt settling his investment with interest.

No excuses. Just raw proof.

“Mr. Mercer forgot to mention his terms,” I spoke into the mic, cold and steady. “His charity came with a leash: step out of line, and the living allowance stopped.”

I looked down at his pale face.

“Every dime has been wired back, Alpha Mercer. Your ledger is closed, your claim is dead, and you have zero jurisdiction on royal soil.”

A sharp, collective gasp hissed through the audience.

The blood drained from Nolan’s face, leaving him ash-gray.

He slammed the roses onto the floor and charged toward the stage stairs. “Lyra! That’s enough!”

He took two stairs at once, veins bulging against his neck. “I poured three years of devotion into you, and this is how you repay me?!”

I offered a faint, icy smile and pressed play on the terminal.

His own voice boomed out of the auditorium speakers, crisp, measured, and devastating:

“She’s reliable. Flawless scores, an obedient wolf-she was built to be a Luna on paper. But you’re different, Serena. You make me want to protect you. I could never leave you behind.”

The auditorium erupted into absolute chaos.

“Moon Goddess, that is sickening.”

“Wait, is that crying girl down there the one from the recording?”

“He bankrolled her just to keep her on a leash while grooming another girl on the side?”

“And he actually thought he could bring that garbage into royal territory?”

My fellow cadets certainly didn’t lack sharp minds.

They were, after all, the top ninety-nine recruits handpicked by the Alpha King himself.
