The Forgotten Princess of the Pack Chapter 08

The Forgotten Princess of the Pack Chapter 08

[September 12, 2023

was accused of stealing by my classmates.

They said every student at this school came from Alpha families. If they wanted something, they already had it. I was the only bastard here, the poorest one, so it had to be me.

I asked Vivienne for help, and she immediately spoke up.

But I knew her words were deliberately ambiguous. Once she finished “explaining,” my classmates became even more

convinced that I had stolen it on purpose.

I might have been slow, but I was not stupid. I asked the

teacher to check the surveillance footage. She refused.

“If everyone who wants to see the school cameras gets to see them,” she said, “do you think teachers would have time for anything else?”

I went home and asked Grayson to talk to the teacher for me.

He replied impatiently, “Handle your own problems. If something keeps going wrong, maybe you should look at yourself first. Why are they targeting you and not anyone else? And what exactly are you feeling wronged about? At home, aren’t you always picking on Vivienne too?”

I had never picked on Vivienne.

It had always been Vivienne setting me up.

I had never insulted her, never pushed her, never bullied her.

But no one believed me.]

[May 12, 2024

Vivienne won an award in a painting competition.

I was genuinely happy for her.

But when the painting was revealed, my mind went completely blank.

That was my painting.

This time, I told Mom and Dad. Once again, Vivienne was right. Even if I spoke up, no one would believe me.

The painting depicted the pack deep in the mountains where I

had been sold.

Smoke drifted gently into the air. An elderly Omega she–wolf

stood in front of a small, dilapidated house, smiling warmly at

  1. me.

She was the only one in the entire mountain range who had

ever been kind to me.

She passed away early. After that, I never had another full

meal.

I cried as I told my parents everything.

They said, “Just to take credit away from your sister, you would make up a lie like this? We are deeply disappointed in

you.”

I stood there, frozen. I spent the entire night unable to

understand why.

Grayson gave me the answer.

“You painted this? You?” he sneered. “You could paint something like this? You never received any artistic training growing up. How could you possibly be capable of it?”

It was so absurd that I actually laughed.

Vivienne had been trained in every kind of talent since childhood. She could play the piano and dance. Did that mean she was supposed to be good at everything in the world?

And because I had never been trained, I deserved to be bad at everything? I did not even deserve the right to be good at something?

This time, I tore her certificate to shreds.

Because it never belonged to her.

That night, she cut my bunny plush toy into pieces.]

[August 10, 2024

I got sick. I could not sleep at night.

My heart raced constantly, and my head hurt so badly it felt like it might split open.

The healer said I was under too much stress.

“If there’s anything troubling you, you can talk to me.”

“Don’t be afraid, child. Depression isn’t something that can’t be treated. If you learn to relax and truly enjoy life…”

I opened my mouth, but nothing came out.]

[December 18, 2024

After buying gifts for Mom and Dad, I still had a little money

left.

I decided to reward myself with a big mango.

Working part–time was exhausting.

I planned to eat half of it today and save the other half for

tomorrow.

I hoped Mom and Dad would like the gifts I picked out.

Today, I felt truly happy and completely satisfied.]

Mom suddenly slapped Vivienne across the face.

“Vivienne, how could you be so vicious?”

“When you were young, it was you who lost Felicity and forced her to endure sixteen years of a life worse than death. You destroyed the life she should have had.”

“She finally came back, and this is how you treat her?”
