The Forgotten Princess of the Pack Chapter 04

The Forgotten Princess of the Pack Chapter 04

Grayson’s expression flickered with a trace of panic, but it vanished almost instantly.

“Aunt Beatrice,” he said coldly, “you said it yourself. Felicity is my sister. So stop meddling in our family matters. I’m teaching her a lesson. It’s for her own good. Don’t interfere.”

He hung up before she could reply.

Grayson stared at his phone for a moment, then said abruptly, “We’ve shopped enough. It’s time to head back.”

Vivienne suddenly stumbled and pressed a hand to her forehead.

Mom hurried over. “Vivienne, what’s wrong?”

Vivienne shook her head weakly. “It’s nothing. I think we walked too long. My blood sugar might be low.”

Grayson immediately supported her, his voice full of concern. “Then let’s get you something to eat first. We can go home after.”

Mom hesitated. “Should I go back first and check on things?”

Vivienne’s expression darkened at once. “Mom, you know Aunt Beatrice is closest to Felicity. She must be exaggerating again. Grayson only locked her in the basement. He didn’t beat her or starve her. How could she die?”

Her voice trembled as she continued. “Aunt Beatrice likes Felicity and hates me and Grayson. Mom… do you not like me either?”

“Of course not,” Mom said quickly, pulling her into her arms. “My sweet girl, don’t cry.”

Grayson waved his hand irritably. “Felicity causes trouble every single day. Let’s eat first. Don’t let her ruin our mood.”

I looked at the irritation and disgust in his eyes and slowly closed mine.

I remembered clearly that when I was five, before I was abducted by a rogue, my brother Grayson loved me.

When Vivienne and I fought over toys, he always divided them fairly. “One for Felicity, one for Vivienne.”

When I crawled into his bed and begged him to tell me stories, he would sigh helplessly but smile anyway. “You’re impossible.”

But when I finally returned to the Silverclaw Pack, everything had changed.

He sided with Vivienne in everything. No matter how many times I explained, he refused to believe me.

Eventually, I stopped defending myself.

I grew quieter and quieter, and then he started to despise me for it. “With that gloomy personality of yours, no wonder your classmates don’t like you.”

The first time he said that, I stood there, frozen.

Vivienne claimed some classmates had bullied her, and I rushed over without hesitation to stand up for her.

But she cried to the teacher instead. “Felicity didn’t grow up in a proper pack. She doesn’t understand social boundaries. She didn’t mean to hit anyone…”

When someone accused me of stealing, she pretended to defend me. “Don’t accuse her. Felicity isn’t that kind of person. Even though she only gets five hundred dollars a month in allowance, she would never steal.”

“Our family is so rich. Why would she need to steal? Mom did lose two necklaces recently, but that doesn’t mean every missing item should be blamed on Felicity.”

Thinking about it now, dying did not seem so terrible.

Being wronged while no one believed you was suffocating. So suffocating that every night before I slept, it felt like a mountain was pressing down on my chest.

Despair. Suffocation.

At the dining hall, Vivienne excitedly ordered food, carefully catering to everyone’s tastes. Father, Mother, and Grayson all looked at her with pride and affection.

That was when Grayson stood up and walked toward the exit, pulling out his phone.

I drifted after him and watched as he dialed my number. After a long stretch of ringing, no one answered.

He muttered under his breath, “What a nuisance.”

Then he started sending messages.

[What tricks are you playing now?]

[Felicity, you’re unbelievable. Selfish, vicious, twisted, disgusting. Even locked in the basement, you still won’t stop lying.]

[Can you show even one decent quality for once?]

After dinner, as they were leaving the mall, Grayson suddenly turned back. When he returned, he was carrying a gift box.

“Let’s go. It’s almost ten. Time to head home.”

Vivienne stared at the box in his hand, her pupils shrinking sharply.

When they arrived at the Silverclaw Pack villa, Beta Alex, the man Father trusted most, stood at the entrance, his face pale with panic.

He rushed toward them. “Alpha, Luna, why did it take you so long to come back? I called again and again. Why didn’t anyone answer?”
