The Female Hybrid Everyone Hated Chapter 15

The Female Hybrid Everyone Hated Chapter 15

Tyson’s free hand came up fisting to land a blow.

Zane let him land it. Part of him felt he needed to experience pain to.

The blow connected and Zane took it – stepped back one pace, jaw bloodied, and looked at his brother with eyes that were completely, absolutely done.

“Hit me as many times as you need to,” he said. “It won’t change what’s on that table.”

STOP STOP STOP YOU BOTH!!!

I screamed watching everything in tears in a way that my scream seemed to cause a paint portrait of metó fall from where I hung and it caught everyone’s attention.

Tyson looked at his own fist.

Then Zane looked at me, at the portrait and calmed himself down.

The way he hadn’t let himself look since he walked through the door.

The Alpha of the Ashburn pack – the cold, dominant, untouchable older brother who had made my life a particular kind of small for twenty five years – put his face in his hands.

His shoulders shook.

Victor stepped forward from the doorway where he had been standing in silence, watching, and put one hand briefly on Zane’s shoulder. Just for a moment. Old friend to old friend. Saying nothing.

Zane stood in the center of Tyson dead sister’s hall, blood on his face, and looked at the man on his knees.

Tyson raised his head eventually. His eyes were wrecked. Red rimmed. The red not wolf now – just human grief wearing a wolf’s face.

“I’m sorry,” he said. His voice barely made it out. “Yara.” He looked at my body. “I’m sorry. I’m so sorry.”

The hall was absolutely silent.

Even the council members who had pressed themselves against the walls during the fight said nothing.

“I know,” Zane said. He didn’t say it kindly. He didn’t say it cruelly. He just said it like a fact. “But she needed to hear that while she was alive.”

Tyson closed his eyes.

“I know,” he said.

Aldric arrived next. Someone had sent for him and he came running.

He came through the door already moving fast and stopped completely when he saw the table. Saw me, then his eyes fell on my corpse.

He walked staring at it slowly till he appeared in front of me.

He stood very still for a very long time.

Then he sat down on the floor. Right there in the great hall, the most powerful healing warlock in the territory, and he sat on the floor with his back against the wall and his hands loose in his lap and he did not get up for a long time.

Aldrich was always so calm and composed, yet he fell apart.

“Yara… Yara…” He crawled to me and took my hand. “Please wake up. Look at me.”

Zane snarled at him: “You are pathetic. Now that she’s dead, you care? Where were you before?”

Aldric didn’t answer. He just held my hand and cried. Tears fell onto my dead body.

It disgusted me. But I couldn’t wipe them away.

Dorian came last.

He still thought I was performing. I could see it in the way he walked in – that defensive set of his shoulders, that preparation to be unmoved.

He laughed bitterly. “Yara, you can’t fool me with a fake death. You guys she is a Hybrid she can’t die. Moreover the only known weapon that can kill her this fast is the white oak stake and I threw it out of reach that even I can’t find it”

“She is dead Dorian, I don’t know how she found it but he did and killed herself” Aldric said.

“What are you saying? Move away, I’ll prove to you she is pretending”!

He reached for my hand.

When he felt it – the temperature, the stillness, the absolute finality of it – his face changed so completely it was like watching a different person appear inside his skin.

But he refused to give up, he shoved Aldric away and brought out his claws, then he drove his hand into her heart and dragged out the stake then he held it for several seconds.

Yet I didn’t wake up. I was already dead.

His pupils dilated. He stepped back. His legs hit a bench and he sat down hard.

“She’s-” He couldn’t finish it.

“Dead,” Zane said from the doorway. “Yes.”

Dorian looked at my face on the table.

Zane looked at him for a long time.

“YARA!! YARA!!!” Mom rushed in shouting my name.

When Mom saw me, she fainted again. They had to take her back to the healing chambers

I felt terrible for her. But there was nothing I could do. I was never meant to stay in this world forever

“Yara is dead”

“And Rose killed her!”

“No!” The three of them said it together, in unison.

“Rose has nothing to do with this,” Aldric spat out.

“Yara was the one that killed herself, don’t you dare blame my wife” Dorian agreed with Aldric

Of course. In their hearts, their precious Rose still mattered more.

Zane laughed mockingly, spreading his hand.

“I take it back. You all killed her. Every single one of you including that bitch and I’ll prove it.”

“Victor bring them in” Zane spoke and the hall door opened once more attracting everyone’s attention.
