The Exiled Beta Is the King’s Daughter Chapter 05

The Exiled Beta Is the King’s Daughter Chapter 05

“Oh my Goddess, Caleb! Look at that massive crystal chandelier! This is what real luxury looks like!” Sienna clung to my arm, her shrill voice slicing right through the elegant symphony playing in the background.

I frowned, subtly pulling away from her grip.

Tonight was the elite gala hosted by Alpha King Magnus. I had purchased Sienna a new-season haute couture red gown just for tonight. But somehow, draped on her frame, it just looked cheap and utterly trashy.

The members of the major packs around us looked at her like she was a circus clown who broke into a fine-dining restaurant.

“Shut up, Sienna. Mind your manners,” I hissed quietly.

“What are you afraid of? I’m the Head Beta of Iron Moon now!” Sienna puffed out her chest proudly. “Watch me secure a better partner for us tonight. I’m a hundred times better than that stiff Aurora!”

Hearing Aurora’s name, my chest tightened slightly. If Aurora were standing here right now… No. I could not think about her. She was just a selfish thief I rightfully banished.

“Look, over there! That is Alpha Vance!” Sienna’s eyes lit up, pointing a manicured finger at an older werewolf nearby. Vance was the Alpha King’s right-hand man, controlling the absolute largest silver mines in North America.

“Go.” I took a deep breath, adjusting my tailored suit collar. “Go show your charm. If we land a deal with him, Iron Moon will be untouchable.”

“Leave it to me, my Alpha,” Sienna purred, twisting her hips confidently, grabbing two glasses of champagne and strutting over.

I stood there, expecting good news.

But the next scene made my blood run cold.

Sienna flashed what she thought was a charming smile and pressed herself right up against Alpha Vance.

“Alpha Vance,” she used her sickly-sweet voice. “I’m Sienna, the new Head Beta of Iron Moon. We just wiped out our enemies and are the strongest pack in the Southwest. I think we should talk about a silver mine partnership…”

Alpha Vance didn’t even turn his head. He just gave her a side-eye, looking at her revealing dress like she was trash.

“When exactly did the gala’s security get so sloppy?” Vance’s voice was not loud, but it carried a suffocating Alpha aura that instantly silenced the immediate area. “Are we letting any stray dog wander in now? Get this Omega and her cheap perfume out of my sight.”

The crowd went quiet. Countless eyes shot over.

Sienna’s face turned purple. She shrieked, “I am the Head Beta of Iron Moon! How dare you treat me like this?!”

“Iron Moon?” Vance finally looked at her fully, his eyes swimming with pure disgust. “I remember the Head Beta of Iron Moon being Aurora. As for you? You look like you belong working a corner in a red-light district, not embarrassing yourself here.”

Snickers erupted from the surrounding crowd.

“Goddess, that is Iron Moon’s new Beta? What a complete joke.”

“I heard that Alpha Caleb kicked out Aurora, the wolf who literally built their pack, just for this piece of trash.”

“What a brainless idiot.”

The vicious whispers hit me like physical slaps to the face. My cheeks burned with fire. Anger and deep humiliation almost drowned me on the spot.

I did not step forward to defend Sienna. Instead, I just wanted to distance myself from this stupid, humiliating woman.

I marched over quickly and grabbed Sienna’s wrist, squeezing so hard I almost crushed her delicate bones. “Stop embarrassing us!” I growled through gritted teeth.

“Caleb! He openly insulted me! Why aren’t you defending me?!” Sienna screeched, her messy tears ruining her heavy makeup, making her look like an absolute lunatic.

I roughly dragged her out to a deserted balcony corner and threw her hard to the ground.

“Defend you? He is the Alpha King’s right-hand man!” I pointed a shaking finger at her face, a thick vein popping in my forehead. “You stupid bitch! You completely humiliated me in there! You are absolutely nothing compared to Aurora!”

“I humiliated you? I was trying to help!” Sienna cried defensively. “You kicked Aurora out! Why don’t you blame yourself for being useless?!”

I slapped her hard across the face, bitter regret suddenly eating me alive.

When Aurora attended these events, she always wore the most elegant dresses, radiating pure nobility. Those powerful Alphas always treated her with respect. As long as she was there, I was the center of attention, easily getting the best resources.

But now… I looked at Sienna sobbing on the ground, feeling nothing but disgust.

I figured after the gala wrapped up, I would go right over and get Aurora back. She loved me so much. She would definitely forgive my mistake.

I comforted my racing mind with that thought. That is, until I saw Aurora standing proudly in the very center of the elite crowd.
