The Dragon’s Savage Queen Chapter 07

The Dragon’s Savage Queen Chapter 07

Aurora’s POV

A wild figure burst out, knife flashing-Seraphine!

After the wedding disaster, House Vale had thrown her into the gutter. She’d been living in the slums ever since.

“This is YOUR fault!” Seraphine shrieked. “YOU did this to me!”

She threw herself at me-and knocked me sideways.

I hit the ground. Seraphine lost her footing and tumbled straight into the magic circle.

“BOOM-

The circle flared to life. Silver light swallowed her whole.

“NO-‘ Kelvin’s scream tore through the air. ‘Not HER-it was supposed to be AURORA-

He scrambled to stop it, magic pouring from his hands as he tried desperately to reverse the spell.

Too late.

Forbidden magic, once triggered, couldn’t be stopped. Forcing it would only unleash backlash.

АНННН-

Kelvin and Seraphine screamed together.

The circle began devouring their magic. Black light ripped from their bodies like blood from a wound. Power flooded out of them in waves.

They thrashed on the ground, writhing in agony.

No-STOP- Seraphine clawed at the air.

“My magic- Kelvin convulsed. “My POWER-

The circle didn’t care. It kept draining them dry.

Worse-an invisible force wound around them both, binding them together. Chaining their souls.

Then-a crushing dragon aura rolled in like a storm.

“Aurora.”

Draven appeared at the end of the street, murder written across his face.

He strode over and pulled me up, hands moving over me quickly. “You hurt?”

I shook my head and collapsed against him.

Draven’s cold gaze swept over the two on the ground. “Want me to save them?”

I went still.

Watching Kelvin and Seraphine suffer, I felt… nothing. Not even pity. They’d hurt me too many times-Kelvin’s betrayal, Seraphine’s schemes, my parents’ blindness…

They made their choice.

Finally, I shook my head. “Not my problem.”

Draven gave a satisfied nod and steered me away.

Behind us, Kelvin’s voice broke. “Aurora-I really DO love you-please just LOOK at me-

My steps faltered for half a second. But I kept walking.

A month later, word reached me about Kelvin and Seraphine.

The spell’s backlash had burned out their magic completely. They were powerless. Ordinary.

Even worse-the circle had permanently bound their souls. They’d never escape each other. Not for the rest of their miserable lives.

Apparently Kelvin drowned in regret every single day. Seraphine cursed him nonstop. They hated each other viciously but couldn’t break free. Shackled together forever.

Poetic justice.

Three Months Later

Married life felt like a dream.

After everything that happened, my parents finally woke up to their mistakes. They’d started trying to make things right. Mother sent homemade pastries. Father wrote letters checking in. Twenty years too late-but I was willing to meet them halfway.

Blood is still blood, after all.

Draven spoiled me beyond reason. He’d stay with me while I brewed potions, sit with me at the observatory watching stars, send people out in the middle of the night to fetch frostberries when I had a craving…

Only one thing nagged at me. That locked chamber.

Over the past three months, Draven kept disappearing at night. I’d wake up and find his side of the bed empty.

When I asked, he always said royal business.

But I knew better. He was going to that chamber.

What’s he hiding in there?

The question ate at me.

That night, nausea woke me again.

It kept happening-stomach churning, throwing up everything, exhaustion dragging me down.

I pushed myself upright and reached for Draven.

Empty space.

Gone again.

I took a shaky breath and got up, wrapping a robe around myself. Fine. I’d find herbs to settle my stomach on my own.

Stepping into the hallway, silence pressed in from all sides.

Moonlight poured through the windows, painting everything in cold silver.

I was heading for the herb garden when I noticed a faint glow at the far end of the north wing.

The chamber.

My pulse kicked up.

The guards were gone. That black door stood barely open, soft sounds drifting out.

The Dragon’s Savage Queen

He’s in there.

My feet moved before I could think.

The closer I got, the harder my heart hammered.

A stupid thought suddenly hit me-what if Draven’s hiding someone in there?

An old lover?

Why else all the secrecy?

The thought sent acid through my chest. Anger and hurt tangled together.

If he did, I’ll-

I shoved the door open.

“Draven, you-

The words died in my throat.

The scene in front of me froze me in place.
