I linked my arm through Ronan’s and turned to Cassian with a smile.

“This card is tied to an account with five hundred thousand dollars in it. Leave Evelina, and it’s yours.”

Ronan scoffed without answering. His contempt was obvious.

I gave Cassian a mocking look.

“Did you even bother to find out who he was before coming here? Go ahead and try to take me from the

Marcelli Family.”

“The Marcelli Family? The dynasty that dominates global shipping?”

The realization hit Cassian like a blow, and he stumbled back half a step.

“Even so… we had ten years together. How can you just let all of that go?”

“Think about your family. Your father and Alaric are still in New York. Are you abandoning them too?”

“Family? When Mom died, I lost my father too. I used to care about Alaric, so you could use him against me.

But the moment he chose Nerina’s side, I had no family left.”

“I will never forgive anyone responsible for my mother’s death.”

Cassian parted his lips, his voice filled with pain.

“But you promised me. You said that if I gave you the money, everything that happened between us would be

settled-”

I cut him off.

“It is settled. That includes everything we once had.”

“With that ten million dollars, I severed every bond of love and family.”

I turned away in disgust and pulled Ronan along with me.

“Let’s go. I don’t want to look at him anymore.”
