The Comments Told Me To Run, He Wouldn’t Let Me Chapter 11

The starship burned back at full speed.

The second we touched down on Capitol Prime, I was rushed to the special care unit at the

deep-sea breeding base.

One dose of the serum, and every ounce of pain dissolved.

Two weeks later, I delivered in the deepest waters of the Sea of Oblivion.

No hemorrhaging. No emergencies. Just a safe, clean birth.

Four babies, each small enough to cradle in one hand.

No white fur like mine. Their bodies were a soft, pale blue.

Each one had a pair of silky rabbit ears on top and eight tiny blue tentacles where legs should

have been.

Four little hybrids. They were real.

They waved their tentacles beside my pillow, blowing tiny bubbles.

Tessa showed up hauling a basket of carrots the size of her torso.

She grinned and winked. “Look at you, mama. Four at once.”

“Your husband almost ran our entire mech team into the ground these past few months. Now that he’s on daddy duty, the rest of us can finally breathe.”

Heat crept up my cheeks.

Tessa kicked back in her chair. “For the record, I’ve been engaged for ages. He’s a fox shifter stationed with the Seventh Fleet.”

“Wedding’s coming up soon, and you’d better be there, Willa.”

And just like that, every misunderstanding I’d been carrying crumbled to dust.

Time slipped by fast.

Three years later, Alden’s name had all but vanished from the Empire’s interstellar headlines.

The name making waves now was a mech designer they called “Blue Rabbit.”

I’d inherited Alden’s gift for design, earned my way into the military academy, and built a

reputation of my own.

Meanwhile, the fearsome commander who once ruled a fleet was in an apron, blending seafood

purée for four little monsters.

“Number One, get off the chandelier! Tentacles off!”

“Number Two, drop your sister’s carrot right now!”

The living room looked like a warzone.

I leaned in the doorway, watching Alden wrestle four squirming little hybrids into a stroller. I couldn’t stop laughing.

He walked over, defeated, and hooked an arm around my waist. “You think this is funny? Come

wrangle your kids.”

“They get the tentacles from you,” I said. “Blame yourself.”

One eyebrow went up, and his voice dropped. “The Sea of Oblivion. Tonight. I’ll remind you

exactly what these tentacles can do.”

My face burned, and I shoved him back.

Sunlight poured through the window.

Rows of robotic sharks glided across the surface of the Sea of Oblivion in perfect formation.

No danger out there. Just home.

Everything was quiet now.

No more glitching comments. No more days spent running scared.

I didn’t need to live in fear of some predetermined script anymore.

I was Willa Blue. I was Alden’s wife. The only one.

The road ahead was long, but with him beside me, I wasn’t afraid of a single step.

The end.
