The next time I heard about Felix and Tessa was three months later, when the verdicts came down.

By then, Caleb could stand on his own legs.

Tessa lunged at her. “Nina Hart, you always act like you’re some kind of savior.”

“Yet someone like you gets all the luck. I work so hard, and I’m still stuck clawing in the mud. How

is that fair?!”

Caleb stepped forward and wrapped an arm around Nina. “Tessa Rayne, you’re still trapped in your own twisted logic.”

“No matter how much you complain, don’t forget you still have to pay for what you did.”

Tessa stepped back and left the Hart estate.

Nina watched her go until she disappeared from sight.

Caleb pulled her into his arms to comfort her.
