Tessa walked up behind them, her voice cold as ice. “Mr. Ford is more patient than I thought.”

Felix turned with a frown. “What are you doing here?”

Tessa took over pushing the swing, harder each time.

On the last push, Nina was thrown to the ground and cried out in fright.

Felix shoved Tessa away and checked on Nina on the ground. “What are you doing?”

Tessa looked down at Nina trembling on the ground. “This bitch has been leaving me bruised these/

past few days. I can’t stand the sight of her.”

Nina reached out to Felix. “Brother, hold me.”

Felix stepped closer to glare at Tessa. “Are you trying to get me killed?”

Tessa frowned. “Why does this idiot depend on you so much?”

“Are you jealous?”

“Why would I be jealous? I’m just reminding you not to forget. You’re the one who had her

boyfriend run over. You’re the one who made her like this.”

“Now you’re trying to play the good guy?”

Nina’s pupils shrank slightly in Felix’s arms.

Felix stood up, using his height to tower over Tessa in shadow.

“Tessa Rayne, this is your first and last warning. Don’t test my limits.”

Tessa sneered. “You’re not thinking of marrying this idiot, are you?”

“Why not? If I marry the daughter Mrs. Hart values most, Hart Holdings falls into my hands.”

Tessa grew frantic. “No. You promised me.”

Felix shoved her away with a cruel smile. “Miss Rayne, do you think sleeping with me twice is enough to tie me down?”

“Don’t forget, Marcus is your fiancé.”

Tessa glared at his retreating back with hatred.

I saw Felix walking over holding my daughter’s hand.

As I walked toward them, my daughter made a subtle gesture toward her chest.

I understood at once.

“Nina, are you okay?”

Felix smiled and explained, “She fell while playing in the garden.”

But my daughter kept burrowing her head into my chest.

I stroked her head and, with a helpless look, removed the brooch from her dress.

“Good thing I was worried, so I put a hidden camera in her brooch. Let’s see why our Nina is upset.

Felix’s smile dropped instantly, replaced by panic. “Mrs. Hart, there’s no need. Nina is fine.”

I ignored him, took out my phone, and connected it to the ballroom screen.

Felix tried to stop me, but Marcus arrived and pinned him down.

“Why so nervous, Mr. Ford?”

Felix shot Tessa a look, and she finally reacted, rushing over to grab the camera from me.
