The Alpha’s Rejected Luna: Crown of Thorns Chapter 04

The Alpha’s Rejected Luna: Crown of Thorns Chapter 04

How dare you!”

The words ripped from my throat like a battle cry, my palm cracking against Ravenna’s painted face hard enough to snap her head sideways. She screamed instantly-a high, theatrical wail-stumbling backward, clutching her cheek like

I’d shattered porcelain. Every gesture rehearsed. Every tremor calculated to perfection.

Gasps erupted through the corridor. Wolves from neighboring packs, visiting healers, omegas carrying linens-all of

them froze and stared.

“Did you see that?”

“She struck Ravenna-the Alpha’s chosen Luna!”

“That’s the rejected mate. She’s lost her mind.”

“Someone get Alpha Kael!”

Every eye carved into me like silver, but I didn’t care. Not anymore.

“You think I can’t see through you?” I shouted, my voice raw with years of swallowed fury. “You slithered into my pack, whispered poison into Kael’s ear, turned him against his own daughter. You destroyed my family! And now-you tried to murder your own son to frame me!” The words erupted, each one scorched with truth. “Cry all you want. Shake and tremble and play the fragile she-wolf. I know exactly what you are-a scheming, venomous snake wearing a Luna’s

crown!”

Ravenna’s sobs intensified, her head shaking, tears tracking perfectly down her cheeks. The crowd softened for her-

but I saw the calculation beneath every quiver.

Then Kael’s voice tore through the corridor like thunder.

“SERA

I spun just in time to see his fist rise The blow caught my temple, brutal and blinding, knocking me sideways into the

wall Stars exploded across my vision

He loomed over me, every inch the Alpha tyrant “After poisoning my son, you dare touch the woman I chose? If it

weren’t for that cursed arranged mating, Ravenna would have been my Luna from the start!

The whispers grew louder, slicing the air like claws.

“She’s clearly feral.”

“No wonder he rejected her.”

“I heard the child isn’t even his. She took another wolf’s seed.”

27 Cons

Ravenna’s theatrical sobbing painted her as the wounded angel, the true Luna wronged by a madwoman And 1-1 was

the monster. Always the villain.

Tears blurred my vision, but I forced words past my split lip. “Then sever the bond completely! I’m done with this

mockery of a mating. I don’t want to be your Luna anymore!”

Kael’s laugh was cold, venomous. “You’re pathetic. Desperate. Feral. First you stage a fake abduction of the girl for

attention, and now this theater? You should be locked in a cage, Sera.”

He reached into his coat and pulled out papers-formal severance documents-flinging them at my feet like scraps to

a stray.

“Here. Isn’t this what you’ve been howling for?”

I bent, trembling, to gather them. But before my fingers closed around the sheets, he swooped down and snatched

them away, a cruel smirk splitting his face.

“You really thought I’d make it that easy?” he spat. “You will serve me one more week before I sign. Until then, you

belong to Blood Moon. You’re mine.”

He waved the papers like a leash, then turned, sliding his arm around Ravenna’s waist. Together they walked away.

and the world confirmed it-she was the cherished Luna, and I was nothing beneath his boot.

The corridor’s eyes never left me-disgusted, condemning. My hands shook as I forced myself upright, legs weak,

chest crushed.

I dragged myself down the hall until I reached Lily’s room. The door closed behind me My forehead pressed against the wood as sobs wracked my body.

“Well then, Kael,” I whispered through tears and trembling lips, a vow forged in blood and fire. “By the end of this week, I will no longer be yours.”

Three days later, I finally brought Lily home-back to the pack house, because I had no choice I needed my mother’s heirlooms, Lily’s things, and documents locked in the Alpha’s study. The pack house was the only way

The door swung open, and my breath caught. Ravenna stood in the center of the great hall, regal, untouchable Asher lounged on the fur-covered couch, laughing like he owned every stone in the building.

Lily’s small voice quivered beside me. “Mama.. why is Asher here?”

Before I could answer, Asher’s smug grin stretched wide. “Because this is my pack now I’m the true heir You’re just a

bastard pup

Lily recoiled, her hand tightening around mine. Fury blazed through me, hot and wild, but Ravenna’s soft, poisonous

voice cut in first

Asher, go to your room,” she said smoothly.

He sauntered upstairs, satisfaction in every step.

The omegas passed with lowered eyes, whispers sharp as silver.

“Everything’s been moved… the former Luna’s belongings are in the omega quarters now.”

I swallowed hard. Ravenna pressed a hand to her chest, feigning concern.

“Oh, Sera… Kael told me to stay here with Asher. I didn’t expect your things to be moved. Please don’t misunderstand.”

Honeyed words. Eyes laughing.

I clenched my jaw for Lily’s sake. Taking her hand, I led her to the omega quarters.

Inside the cramped room, her resistance broke. She wept into my sleeve, small tears soaking the fabric.

“Mama… why does Papa treat us like strays?”

I held her close, rocking her gently. “Don’t cry, baby. Soon, very soon, we’ll leave this place. You’ll never have to bow

your head for anyone again.”

That night, the pack house blazed with firelight and music. Kael hosted a feast for visiting Alphas, and i was shoved

to the far end of the table-an uninvited ghost in my own home.

Ravenna sat at his side, her hand brushing his arm, claiming her throne. Her smile was serene, and the Alphas at the

table admired her like she was a goddess descended.

One of them glanced toward me “And who is she?”
