The Alpha Only Regretted After Taking My Child Away Chapter 05

The Alpha Only Regretted After Taking My Child Away Chapter 05

Damian carried Isabelle into the pack hospital, ignoring every red light along the way.

He rushed straight into the Alpha-only emergency room with her in his arms.

“Save her. Now.”

The pack doctor on duty was startled. When he looked up and saw Damian, he froze.

He was the same doctor who had performed Damian’s bloodline examination.

He knew the truth.

Damian could not father children.

“Alpha?” The doctor frowned as he looked from Damian to Isabelle, who lay pale on the gurney. Confusion

crossed his face.

“Your… child?”

“Mr. Ashford, aren’t you under the Moon Goddess’s curse? Aren’t you permanently infertile? Where did this

child come from?”

Damian’s face darkened instantly.

He whipped around, his voice tight with rage.

“What the hell did you just say?”

“The Moon Goddess’s curse?”

“Do you have a death wish? What nonsense are you spouting?”

The doctor stepped back in fear and hurried to explain.

“Mr. Ashford, I am not talking nonsense. That was the result of the bloodline examination you and the Luna

took years ago.”

“Miss Lane never told you? You are indeed cursed. According to Pack law, you are permanently infertile.”

At the sound of Selena’s name, Damian froze.

The next second, he laughed in fury.

His Alpha aura exploded outward, forcing the doctor to his knees.

“Selena?”

“How much did she pay you to perform this little act?”

The doctor went still. “Mr. Ashford, I-”

Damian cut him off, his voice icy.

“Are you trying to come between me and Isabelle? Or are you trying to slander Isabelle and make me think

the child she carries is not mine?”

He sneered.

“Go back and tell Selena I won’t believe her. Her tricks are childish enough to make me sick.”

“If I am truly cursed and cannot reproduce, then what were all her pregnancies? Did she roll around with other male wolves?”

The doctor’s face changed. He tried to speak again.

“Alpha, there is a reason for that.”

But Damian had lost all patience.

“Enough.”

“I only need you to do one thing.”

“Save the child.”

“If anything happens to that child, the entire pack hospital will pay for it.”

The doctor no longer knew how to explain. Under Damian’s Alpha pressure, even breathing became difficult.

He could only obey.

The emergency treatment continued.

At that moment, Damian’s communicator rang.

He glanced at it and saw that it was his personal assistant.

“What is it?”

The assistant’s panicked voice came through. “Alpha, you need to return to the Imprinting Temple

immediately. Something serious has happened.”

Damian frowned. “What happened?”

“Your rival Alphas from the North American packs have all arrived at the same time for some reason.”

“And they said they came to give you a gift.”

Damian’s face sank.

“Ignore them.”

“They’re just a group of defeated dogs. If they want to cause trouble, have the wolf guards throw them out.”

He paused, then said coldly, “Right now, I only care about Isabelle and the child. Until I know they are both

safe, nothing else matters.”

The assistant hesitated. “Alpha, but-”

Damian interrupted him. “Do as I said.”

He was about to hang up when he seemed to remember something. His voice lowered slightly.

“What about Selena?”

“Has she admitted her mistake? Has she begged me yet? If she has, send her to the pack hospital. As long

as she is willing to personally take care of Isabelle, I won’t hold this against her.”

The assistant was taken aback.

“I’m not sure about that.”

Damian frowned in irritation.

“Forget it. If she insists on being stubborn, let her reflect in the dungeon.”

The call ended.

He turned toward the emergency room.

The moment his hand touched the door handle, a sharp, lowered voice came from inside.

“I told you I don’t want you saving this child.”

Damian stopped dead outside the door.

Inside, Isabelle’s voice was impatient and irritable.

“Did you not hear me?”

“I told you to abort this child.”

“Get rid of it, and I’ll give you one million.”

Her voice dropped even lower, thick with malice.

“This stays between you and me. Damian will never know.”

“When the time comes, we’ll say Selena injured me and the child couldn’t be saved. Wouldn’t that be perfect?”

Damian’s brows locked together.

He pushed the door open.

Everyone inside froze.

Isabelle’s face went pale, her fingers still suspended in midair.

Damian stared at her, his voice low and tense.

“What did you just say?”

“What do you mean, abort the child?”

“If the child can be saved, why don’t you want it?”

Isabelle’s eyes reddened, and she looked as if she had been badly frightened.

“Listen to me…”

Her small face was pale, and tears fell one by one.

“If someone hates this child so much and doesn’t want him to be born, then I might as well let her have what

she wants.”

She bit her lip hard and choked on her words.

“She already hates him this much now. What about later?”

“If the baby is born and handed to her to raise, Luna will find every possible way to harm him.”

“Instead of letting the child suffer later, and making me suffer too, it would be better to end it now, before he

is born, before he understands anything, before I have poured all of my love into him.”

Damian trembled.

The next second, he pulled her tightly into his arms.

“Isabelle, don’t say that.”

His voice was hoarse.

“The child is innocent.”

Isabelle sobbed in his arms.

Damian looked heartbroken, but a nearly imperceptible trace of suspicion flashed through his eyes.

After a pause, he asked quietly, “What did you mean about pushing it onto Selena?”

Isabelle’s body stiffened.

She looked up at him with tears clinging to her lashes, her face full of grievance.

“Are you feeling sorry for her?”

“I’m already like this, and you’re still speaking up for her?”

Her voice carried resentment through her sobs.

“I just hate her for hurting my baby. Am I not even allowed to vent?”

“Besides, it was her fault in the first place.”

The more she spoke, the more wronged she seemed. She cried until she could barely get the words out.

“I had already thought it through.”

“After the child was gone, I would buy a plane ticket and leave you.”

“I don’t want to disturb the two of you anymore.”

Damian’s expression changed drastically.

He grabbed her shoulders, his voice tight with anger.

“What did you say?”

“Leave me?”

He pulled her close, his tone almost forceful.

“I won’t allow it.”

“Isabelle, listen to me.”

“I will not let go of you or the child.”

“Whoever harmed you will pay.”

Isabelle slowly stopped crying. She looked up, her eyes still wet.

“Will you avenge me?”

Damian’s gaze turned cold.

“Yes.”

“If she dared touch you and the child, then she should bear the consequences.”

Only then did Isabelle smile through her tears. She leaned softly against his chest and whispered, “Then will you sever the Imprint with her?”

“I don’t want her raising my child. I don’t feel safe.”

Damian paused.

Then he fell silent.

“The child does not have to be given to her. But severing the Imprint is impossible.”

Isabelle did not get the answer she wanted. Panic flashed in her eyes.

“Didn’t you say I was the one you loved most?”

“Didn’t you say you stopped loving her long ago and only felt family affection for her now?”

Damian closed his eyes.

After a long time, he spoke.

“Yes.”

“You are the one I love most.”

His voice was low and slow.

“But when I think of severing the Imprint and cutting her out of my life completely…”

He paused, his brows tightening.

“It feels wrong.”

“As if something is being ripped away from me.”

He held Isabelle tighter, as though trying to convince himself.

“Maybe I am just too nostalgic.”

“Don’t worry.”

“I will send her to some Rogue camp in Europe. She will never appear in front of you or the child again.”

“She won’t be able to hurt you anymore.”

Only then did Isabelle smile.

She nodded, her voice softening.

“Alright.”

The pack doctor beside them quietly let out a breath of relief.

After the examination, he confirmed that everything was stable.

“The child is fine. I will prescribe some medicine, and she can be discharged.”

As soon as Isabelle heard that, she grabbed Damian’s hand.

“The Imprinting ceremony,” she said, her eyes full of unwillingness. “The ceremony you prepared for me starts in one hour. If we go back now, we can still make it.”

Damian looked at her and smiled.

“Alright.”

“Whatever you want.”

At the Imprinting Temple, the moonstone lamps shone brilliantly.

Ancient hymns to the Moon Goddess rose slowly through the hall.

Isabelle changed into a fresh wedding dress and walked onto the ceremonial platform with a smile.

Damian stood beside her, his expression once again calm and composed.

The Elder presiding over the ceremony raised the silver scroll and was about to begin when someone below

spoke.

“Wait.”

The voice was not loud, but it was perfectly clear.

Several people slowly stood.
