‘Sterile’ Mate, Pregnant Mistress? Zero Fucks Given—I Took His Pack Instead Chapter 05

Garrett walked closer, bare feet crunching over scattered herbs from the healer.

He bent down and picked up her phone. The screen still showed “Call in progress.”

Amber suddenly grabbed a clay jar and hurled it at him. “Go to hell! You think I’d bond with you if you weren’t Alpha? I was faking it the whole time!”

Garrett tilted his head. The jar exploded against the wall behind him in a burst of dried flowers.

He grabbed Amber by the throat and shoved her against the open balcony door.

Three stories up. Wind howling through the trees below.

“Whose pup?” He asked so gently, right by her ear.

Amber’s pupils shrank. “It’s-it’s yours!”

Garrett laughed. Then backhanded her hard across the face.

He let go. She crumpled to the floor like a broken doll.

“Still lying?”

Amber spit blood at him.

“YOU’RE the trash here! You think I’d want you if you weren’t Alpha?”

“You can’t even sire pups! You’re cursed! Who the fuck do you think you are?”

“And your ex? She was carrying. Once. But what did you do to her?”

How pathetic.

He threw everything away for a fake heir. Lost the one wolf who really loved him.

Garrett froze like he’d been hit with wolfsbane.

Amber’s words stabbed into the softest part of his wolf.

He stumbled back and knocked over an ancient ceremonial bowl. The sound of it shattering echoed through the empty den.

“SHUT UP!”

His voice barely sounded human anymore.

“Hahaha.” Amber laughed like she’d gone feral, blood at the corner of her mouth.

“Your ex was eight weeks along and still on patrol till moonset! For who? For you, you ungrateful piece of shit!”

Garrett’s knees hit the stone floor hard.

Years ago he was worried about my wolf so he’d linked my healer records to his phone.

He pulled it out with shaking hands and scrolled back three years.

“Patient pregnancy 8 weeks, miscarriage due to wolf exhaustion.”

The words felt like silver burning through his eyes.

“That night. That night Sloane said her wolf was acting up.”

He kept repeating it like his mind was breaking.

Suddenly he remembered me lying in that healer’s den, the way I looked like I wanted to say something but didn’t.

How I quietly hid the examination results. How I never mentioned “wanting pups” again after that.

He could’ve checked his phone anytime. He would’ve known.

But he lied to himself for years. Until this halfblood bitch shoved it in his face.

Amber crawled to her feet and grabbed her packed designer bag, laughing coldly. “You deserve this! You piece of shit!”

“Get out.” His voice was barely there. “Before I rip your throat out.”

Amber ran. Like her life depended on it.

At the door she turned back.

“Garrett! You think Sloane’s coming back? She knows exactly what you are!”

The door slammed. Just Garrett.

He walked to the liquor cabinet like a zombie and grabbed the strongest wolfsbane whiskey.

It burned down his throat but he couldn’t feel anything.

For a second he remembered five years ago when the pack was just starting.

Him and Sloane crammed in that tiny den, sharing one cheap bottle and laughing like it was the best thing in the world.

But he destroyed the one wolf he should’ve protected most.

Suddenly, his phone buzzed. The vault council’s final notice.

Garrett didn’t even look. He turned it off and dialed another number.

“Find her. She’s in Frostclaw territory. Now.” He told the tracker.

After he hung up he stared out at the night sky, eyes turning obsessive and feral.

“Sloane.” He whispered. “I’m getting you back.”
