Spoiled by the Mafia King Chapter 07

Spoiled by the Mafia King Chapter 07

I jerked back, realizing she looked like Reynolds.

“You ruined my daughter’s life! She’ll spend the rest of her life behind bars!”

She raised her hand to slap me.

I turned and caught her wrist in midair. Dante had taught me self-defense while I was recovering, and apparently, it worked.

“Let go of me!”

“Your daughter brought this on herself,” I said. “She abused students and embezzled money. The law decided her fate, not me.”

“Bullshit! None of this would’ve happened if you weren’t some spoiled rich girl with connections!”

The crowd parted.

Matteo sauntered over with both hands in his pockets, looking bored.

“Reynolds’s mother, right?”

“Y-you… what do you want?!”

“Planning to sue me?” Matteo gave a thin smile. “Good luck with that.”

He pulled a folded document from his coat and tossed it at her feet.

“Your husband’s shell company is under investigation for tax fraud. Looks like your whole family is headed to prison.”

“You’ll get to see your daughter soon enough.”

Mrs. Reynolds stared at the document, then at Matteo, then at me.

She collapsed to the ground.

Matteo turned to me and ruffled my hair.

“See? I told you. Fight back.”

The woman’s face went instantly pale. Her legs gave out, and she dropped onto the sidewalk.

“No. This is revenge! You’re targeting us!”

Mrs. Reynolds sat on the ground, fumbling with the document. “This has to be fake!”

“Revenge?” Matteo let out a short, humorless laugh. “You think people like you are worth revenge?”

He bent down, his voice dropping into something terrifyingly low.

“Let me make this clear. If you ever come within fifty feet of my sister again, I’ll make sure your entire family disappears without a trace, and you won’t even have a place to sleep.”

Mrs. Reynolds broke down completely. She covered her face and sobbed, scrambling backward on her hands and feet until she fled the scene.

The students around us stood frozen, swallowing in silence.

I tugged at Matteo’s sleeve. “What are you doing here?”

“What, I can’t pick up my sister from graduation?”

He grinned and reached for my backpack. The moment he lifted it, his face darkened.

“Why is this thing so heavy? I told you, nothing over two pounds.”

“Matteo, I’m not that delicate anymore,” I sighed. “I’m fine.”

“How is this fine? What if you pull something?”

He slung the bag over his shoulder with ease and walked straight toward the waiting car.

The others were already inside.

Dante was the first to pounce, shoving a sleek box into my hands. “Valentina! Look! It’s the newest gaming console. It’s a limited edition.”

Adrian silently slipped a black card into my hand. “Use it. The PIN is your birthday.”

Nico handed me a milkshake with the straw already in it.

Luca turned around from the passenger seat. His stern expression softened when he looked at me.

“Let’s go home. Papa and Mama are waiting for you.”

“Thanks, guys.”

The nightmare was over, but it had changed me.

I was no longer the girl who cried in the dirt. I no longer needed to be protected every second of my life.

I still had my brothers, my father, and my family.

But now I knew I could stand on my own.

If the world ever tried to break me again, I would not sit there waiting to be rescued.

I would hold my head high.

Because behind me stood five unshakable men no one could ever bring down.
