She Called Him Controlling I Called Him My Ticket To Ivy Chapter 06

We arrived at a luxury car dealership.

“Pick one,” he said. “A celebration for your freedom.”

I stared at the car logos, my palms breaking out in a sweat.

Before I could say a word, a familiar voice rang out behind me. “Is this one new? Can I take it for a test drive?”

I turned around.

Stella was hanging on the arm of a strange man, pointing haughtily at a car a little way off.

The second she turned her head, her eyes locked onto mine.

Then her gaze shifted to Josiah beside me, and she froze completely.

[Here it comes! Josiah and Stella finally meet!]

[The side chick’s cover is finally going to be blown. Let’s see how long she can keep acting!]

[He’ll realize right away this is the girl he was chatting with online!]

[Obsessive possessive drama is coming, girls!]

My heart stopped beating, and I instinctively grabbed Josiah’s sleeve, trying to pull him away.

But before I could move, Stella was walking over.

“Hazel, long time no see,” she said, raking Josiah up and down with her eyes. “This is your boyfriend? The secretary?”

I pressed my lips together and said nothing.

Stella smiled even wider. “What are you doing here, looking at cars? All the cars here are luxury models, the cheapest is hundreds of thousands, right? Can he even afford one on his salary?”

No sooner had she finished speaking than the man beside her rushed forward.

“Mr. Kent…” his voice trembled. “My god, I can’t believe I’m running into you here!”

Stella stared at him, dumbfounded.

The man bowed slightly, holding out a business card with both hands. “Mr. Kent. I’m Jake White from Summit Supplies. I saw you from a distance at the investment fair last time, never thought I’d meet you here today!”

Josiah glanced down at the business card, but he didn’t take it, and he didn’t say a word.

The man didn’t look embarrassed at all; instead, he became even more enthusiastic. “Are you here to pick cars, Mr. Kent? I know this dealership really well. May I show you around?”

Stella finally snapped out of her daze, tugging at the man’s clothes, her voice dry. “What are you doing? He’s just a little secretary. Why are you groveling to him like that?”

The man turned to look at her, his face a picture of shock. “A secretary? What are you talking about? This is Mr. Kent of Kent Group! Everyone in the Kenilworth business circle knows him! You’ve never even heard of him?”

Stella’s mouth fell open, and she couldn’t say a single word for a long time.

The man went on to fawn over Josiah, asking for his contact information, but Josiah told him he was just here to look at cars with his girlfriend and didn’t want to talk business.

Then he took my hand and started to walk out.

We’d barely taken two steps when Stella chased after us.

“Are you Cyrus?” Stella stared straight at Josiah. “I’m Momo! I’m your online girlfriend! Don’t you recognize me?”

My head buzzed.

This day was finally here.

Josiah frowned. “My girlfriend is clearly…”

“It’s not her!” Stella stepped forward, cutting him off. “It’s me! Do you remember? In our first chat, you asked why I called myself Momo.”

“I said it was because I loved that emoji, and you said what a coincidence, you loved it too. And you sent me five grand once, I asked for more, and you said a student didn’t need that much money.”

She reeled off several details from their chat in one breath, every single one accurate.

Then she turned to me. “Ask Hazel if you don’t believe me. Wasn’t I the one you were chatting with online at first?”

Josiah’s eyes fell on me.

I hung my head. “Yes, it was her, at first.”
