She Asked For A Divorce The Day He Made Her A Public Enemy Chapter 01

I had been secretly married to a top voice actor for three years, and he had never once been willing to make it public.

Yet he had no problem letting the internet ship him with a female subordinate, feeding rumors and staged “couple moments” to the press.

Then one day, news broke that this subordinate had snatched someone else’s role through connections. The story blew up on the trending list.

And without hesitation, Jason Miller decided I was behind it.

“Stella Grant, with your amateur-level voice work, what makes you think you can even compare to Verena?” he snapped.

“Even without connections, she’d still land that role over you.”

He demanded that I post a public apology.

When I refused, he exposed my personal account.

Within hours, I was buried under online abuse—harassment, insults, even edited death photos made from my pictures.

This time, I didn’t stay silent.

I asked him for a divorce.

Later, a legendary voice actress who had vanished from the industry years ago made a comeback.

For the first time, she showed her face.

From the audience, Jason looked straight at me—his eyes red, his composure shattered.

“Why didn’t you tell me sooner… that you’re Serena Vale?”

***********

I had just landed a dubbing job for the female lead in a streaming series.

The contract was barely signed before the role was snatched out from under me.

It wasn’t until I ran into Jason and his subordinate at a talent agency that I understood what had happened.

The one who took my job was Verena Dawson.

And the one who helped her take it… was my husband, Jason Miller.

Our eyes met.

Shock flickered across his face, but because of our secret marriage, he didn’t say a word. He walked past me like I was a stranger.

Still, Verena noticed something was off.

Looping her arm through his, she tilted her head and asked sweetly, “Jason, do you know her?”

“We’ve met,” he replied casually. “Not close.”

His answer reached me from just a few steps away—without the slightest hesitation.

It hit me like a blow to the chest.

Three years of marriage, and my husband said we weren’t even close.

Thinking about it now… he wasn’t wrong.

Not long after I got home, Jason returned as well.

He slipped off his shoes, shrugged off his coat—every movement edged with tension.

“What were you doing at the agency?” he asked. “Looking for a job?”

Before I could answer, his tone sharpened.

“Didn’t you promise you’d stay home and focus on being a full-time wife? We’re not short on money. Why do you need to work? With my public profile, if people find out I’m married, it won’t be good for you. I don’t want you becoming a target.”

Jason was a well-known voice actor, and the Miller family ranked among the elite in high society.

A man with his looks, talent, and background marrying someone like me—an orphan with nothing—was bound to draw criticism.

But I knew the truth.

He wasn’t hiding our marriage for my sake.

He was hiding it for Verena, who had entered the industry because of him, the one he constantly supported and protected.

The thought slipped out before I could stop it.

“It’s not bad for me. It’s bad for you.”

“You don’t want to go public because you’re afraid she’ll find out, right?”

“So why dress it up like you’re doing me a favor? Why hide your selfishness behind excuses?”

His gaze turned sharp, like I’d ripped away something he didn’t want exposed.

“Verena and I are just working together. Watch your words,” he said coldly.

“You can take issue with me, but don’t drag an innocent girl through the mud. That’s slander.”

I let out a short laugh.

“You paid gossip blogs to push your ‘couple’ narrative—true.”

“You kissed her on stage—also true.”

“I’m just stating facts. Since when is that slander?”

“If this is really for my sake, then why not make our marriage public?”

“If my husband can admit he’s married during the peak of his career, I can handle a little backlash from your fans.”

“What, you can’t do it?”

“Enough!”

Jason cut me off sharply.

He stared at me as if he didn’t recognize me anymore—the woman who used to be quiet, who never raised her voice.

How had I become this confrontational?

Maybe afraid I’d keep pushing, he forced his tone to soften.

“Stella, I don’t know what’s gotten into you lately.”

“But you’re not in the right state to have this conversation.”

“Calm down. We’ll talk later.”

He grabbed his coat, changed his shoes in a hurry, and walked out while dialing his phone.

“Daniel, look into why Stella went to the agency.”
