Selling Out My Godfather Husband Chapter 02

Selling Out My Godfather Husband Chapter 02

He not only refused to answer, but he also let Gianna use his phone to send me a voice message.

Gianna: [Isabella, you gave this man to me willingly. You do not get to take him back.]

I was desperate for money that could save my life. In the end, all I received from her were photos flaunting her victory.

In the final moments of my life, I watched Gianna wear my silk robe, spray on my favorite perfume, lie on the clean silk sheets I had washed myself, and kiss my husband.

Now that I had been given another life, I might not get love, but at least I could get enough money to keep myself alive.

I just never expected that the son I could not let go of in my last life would turn against me for Gianna too.

Before I even had time to grieve, my phone suddenly rang.

It was a call from my doctor.

“Ms. Colombo, we found a matching donor heart. We can schedule your surgery next month.”

At the good news, my knees nearly gave out, and I had to brace myself against the wall just to stay upright.

In this life, I would not die in despair in a hospital hallway.

As soon as I hung up, Luca sent me a message.

Luca: [I was harsh earlier. I promised I would give you the wedding I owed you. The designer just delivered the custom gown to the house. Will you come home and try it on?]

I did not reply, but I did not refuse either.

When I married Luca five years ago, the FBI had just come down hard on his family. They had declared bankruptcy and were so broke that they could not even afford a wedding.

Back then, I was an old-money heiress from a fallen family. After my parents passed away, they left me a sizable inheritance.

I married him without hesitation. I even sold off my family assets to help bring the Vitale family back to life.

Before we got married, he asked me to sign a prenup.

He said that, given his situation, he could lose everything at any time, and signing the agreement was his way of protecting me on paper.

After we got married, I helped him rebuild the family. I believed he had the ability to claw his way back to the top, and I believed he would one day give me a grand wedding that everyone would envy.

But after he truly rose again, Gianna appeared. She stole his attention and my son’s affection, and I was still waiting for that wedding to this day.

When I got home and pushed the door open, I saw Luca and my son gathered around Gianna, who was wearing a wedding gown, showering her with praise.

The moment Luca noticed me at the door, his smile froze on his face.

He quickly walked over to me and reached out as if he wanted to put his arm around me.

“Bella, let me explain.”

“Gianna’s mother is dying. Her biggest wish before she goes is to see her daughter walk down the aisle.”

“Gianna still doesn’t have a boyfriend, so I was planning to stage a fake wedding with her first. The wedding I owe you will have to be pushed back a little longer.”

I stared steadily at Gianna.

The wedding gown had been custom-made to my measurements, yet somehow it fit Gianna perfectly, even though she was a full head shorter than me.

Gianna spoke in a soft, fragile voice. “Luca, maybe we should forget it. Bella has waited five years for this. I don’t feel right about it.”

She made a show of trying to take off the gown, but my son stopped her.

Then he slammed into me like a little cannonball.

“You bad woman! You’re just jealous because Gianna looks like a princess in that wedding dress!”

“Your stomach is covered in stretch marks. Nothing looks good on you!”

He knocked me hard to the floor, and the pain was so sharp that I could not recover for a long moment.
