Reborn to Watch Him Regret Choosing My Twin Chapter 12

After that, I didn’t see Sterling for a long time.

I heard my dad landed in the hospital from the stress.

Mira was pregnant, so she wasn’t arrested. Sterling spent a fortune greasing palms and had her confined to

Manor.

The day of my wedding to Grey, my mom showed up. She came to beg for Mira.

That’s when I learned the truth. My dad demanding those shares–it wasn’t for Mira. It was because her paranoia had spiraled. She’d stalked Sterling and torpedoed several of his major deals.

She photographed female clients and posted them online, publicly accusing them of being mistresses.

Sterling bled money and begged for forgiveness. Seventy percent of the company’s investors pulled out. But Mira’s spending habits didn’t change one bit.

The debt collectors started showing up. He had to sell their villa. They moved back in with my parents.

My dad couldn’t bear to see his precious Mira suffer, so he tried to get his hands on my pre–marital assets.

Too bad for him. He hit solid iron this time.

I gave the venue manager one instruction. “If she’s here to wish me well, she can come in. If not, she’s not

welcome here.”

She came in. She sat in the front row, right where the mother of the bride should’ve been. She didn’t say a single word to me the entire time. I didn’t care. Because the ceremony was starting.

Originally, I was supposed to walk to Grey alone.

Before the doors opened, Sterling appeared in front of me. Full tuxedo. He crooked his arm, smile tinged

with bitterness.

“You can’t walk down the aisle without someone to give you away. I’m standing in for Dad. To hand you

over to him.”

I took his arm.

The doors opened slowly.

The light found us, piece by piece.

He walked slowly. “Clara. You look gorgeous in your wedding dress.”

I didn’t answer.

He kept talking to himself. The path was so short, but he had a lifetime’s worth of words. “I always knew he bad a thing for you. Every time we played ball, I’d tell him to stop dreaming,”

My gaze stilled.

“Never thought he’d actually steal you in the end.”

I cut him off. “He didn’t steal me. You gave me up.”

The fabric under my hand went rigid. “If I hadn’t chosen her, the man standing here right now would be

me.”

Last timeline, it was him. But-

“You chose me. And then you spent your whole life punishing me for it.”

His timeless mask finally cracked.

The corner of his mouth went stiff for a fraction of a second. He wanted to say something. But the path

ended.

Grey extended his hand. “Brother–in–law. Time to hand over the bride.”
