Suddenly, as if she had made a decision, she shot to her feet and said loudly to the judge,

“Your Honor, I wish to add a statement.”

“Gianni forced me to do everything. He arranged it all from behind the scenes.”

“I don’t even like him. He pursued me and promised me position, money, and opportunities.”

“Later, he even threatened my parents and forced me to help him go after Maelle.”

“He made every decision.”

“I have evidence.”

After she finished, she submitted a document. The judge opened it. Inside was a photo.

In the picture, Gianni stood in front of Isabelle’s parents with a gun in his hand, looking arrogant.

The elderly couple had their heads lowered, their faces full of fear.

I was too tired to care about any of it.

At that moment, I just stood there and watched them fall apart.

Gianni stared hard at Isabelle, his eyes filled with shock.

The woman for whom he had destroyed his marriage and career had just thrown him under the bus without a second thought.

He suddenly rushed toward her, grabbing her by the collar, his voice shaking.

“Why would you do this?”

“Who did you think I did all of this for?”

“If it wasn’t to help you get ahead, to get you the credit, why would I have taken such a huge risk?”

“And now you’re pinning it all on me? Who was it that cried and begged me for help?”

I knew Gianni too well.

If Isabelle hadn’t stabbed him in the back, he might have tried to take most of the blame himself.

Partly as a belated apology to me, and partly to protect her.

But now, Isabelle had slammed that door shut with her own hands.

Isabelle’s face flushed red, and she immediately shot back at him.

“What are you pretending to be so devoted for?”

“Who have you ever loved? You just like novelty. You like having people orbit around you.”

“You think I couldn’t see that?”
