Reborn to Clear My Name Chapter 07

I took out the backup phone I had hidden near my sniper point.

It had recorded everything, from the moment Isabelle kicked open the rooftop door to Gianni picking up the brick and telling her to beat me.

“I also want to report Captain Gianni Marino.”

“He abused his authority to protect Isabelle, disregarded team safety, commanded improperly, and allowed the situation to deteriorate.”

“To protect her, he put the entire squad in danger.”

“I’m formally requesting an immediate Internal Affairs investigation.”

The chief froze for a moment and was about to speak when Gianni suddenly stepped forward.

“Maelle, are you insane? Do you know what you’re saying?”

He immediately turned to the chief.

“I’m sorry, Chief.”

“She took a blow to the head just now, and her operational mistake shook her up.”

“She may not be in her right mind. That’s why she’s saying these things.”

I handed the phone and the storage card from my scope’s recorder to the chief.

“Chief, you’ll know whether I’m lying or not after you watch this.”

By the time the chief took the evidence, Gianni’s expression had already started to change.

But he still forced himself to stand there, pretending nothing was wrong.

I couldn’t clearly see the chief’s expression as he watched the videos, but I knew it wouldn’t be good.

Gianni was a young captain he had personally promoted. Now that something like this had happened, it would be a difficult situation for him to handle.

But Isabelle, still thinking the boy we had just saved was an ordinary kid, didn’t realize the game had changed.

She was still sneering at me, her tone sharp.

“Maelle, don’t get happy too soon.”

“Gianni knows people in the department. He has people at City Hall, too.”

“By tomorrow, you’ll be kicked out of SWAT.”
