Rebirth Revenge: I Gift Her Cursed Babies Chapter 08

Clara finally broke down. The horrifying, supernatural scene before her eyes was more than what she could handle.

She let out a bloodcurdling scream and clutched her head as her body trembled violently.

“Monsters! They’re monsters!

“Help me! There are monsters in me!”

As if she had been driven mad, she spun around to flee, but her legs buckled and sent her crashing heavily onto the floor.

Colter rushed over in his Rolls-Royce, grabbed the shell-shocked Clara, and heaved her into the car. The

car shot out like an arrow and fled the scene.

Meanwhile, wealthy socialites on the other side of the shelter frantically searched.

“Who the hell did this? Why did my dog suddenly suffer a miscarriage? If anything happens to her, I’ll

make sure whoever did this pays with their life!” a pot-bellied man roared.

People around him aggressively chimed in and vowed to beat the culprit to death the moment they were

caught.

It was such a shame that Clara and Colter had fled, but I had a better plan in mind.

After returning home, I was about to settle down for dinner when my phone suddenly buzzed. I picked it

up to find a text message from Dad.

“Jessie, your grandma suddenly fell ill. I’m out of town on business and can’t make it back in time.

“She’s moved to the old residential house near the abandoned Crimson Star Warehouse on the outskirts.

Could you check on her? The key is under the doormat.”

My heart lurched, and an ominous feeling struck me. I immediately dialed Dad’s number, but a

computerized voice informed me that the line was currently busy.

I sent several texts pressing for details on what was wrong with Grandma, but his response was just a

clipped “Just get there first. I’ll meet you right after”.

Although a nagging sense of unease pulled at me, the possibility of Grandma being in danger overrode

my overthinking. So I grabbed my coat and rushed out.

When my GPS led me to a dilapidated, ominous factory, an overwhelming sense of dread crashed over me. This wasn’t an old residential house; it was a factory that looked like it had been abandoned for ages.

Stepping out of the car, I glanced around my surroundings in confusion. I pulled out my phone and tried to reach Dad again, only to see that the signal bars were empty.

When I returned to my car, intending to drive home, I discovered that my tires had been slashed.

With no other choice, I braced myself to walk up to the main entrance of the factory and noticed that the car was slightly ajar.

The only source of light was a flickering fluorescent bulb atop my head, casting mottled shadows across

the floor of the empty factory. It was deeply eerie.

Just as I was about to turn and leave, Colter stepped out from behind the door. He held a syringe and a

glass vial with a twisted grin plastered across his face.

“Don’t waste your breath running. You’re not getting out of here.”

“It’s you!” I gasped and scrambled back in terror. “Where’s my dad? What did you do to him?”

Colter let out a cold laugh and slowly stepped toward me. “Do you honestly think the texts came from your dad? All I did was steal his account and mimic the way he talked.”

“You’ve lost your mind! What do you want?”

“What do I want?”

He waved the syringe at me and said, “Your blood, of course. Once I mix your blood with Clara’s sample and run it through the system for a transfer, I can move the monsters in her belly into yours. By the time the rich men track back to us, you’ll be the scapegoat to take the fall!”

“W-What are you talking about? What system?” I thrashed wildly to avoid his outstretched hand.

“It’s a system that helps people get pregnant. It just happens to come with a few side effects.”

Clara’s voice drifted over from the darkness before she stepped out, dragging her enormous belly. Her

expression was twisted with malice.
