Rebirth Revenge: I Gift Her Cursed Babies Chapter 05

Rebirth Revenge: I Gift Her Cursed Babies Chapter 05

I didn’t eat a single bite of the apple pies Clara gave me, and that was the reason my baby was still safe in

my womb.

Naturally, I dared not touch any of the other food she sent either.

The next day, I hid all three massive crates of apple pies and hired someone to custom-make three identical replacement ones. I planned to bring her apple pies on my trip to the rescue shelter to be donated to the aggressive pregnant dogs taken in by Collin.

Word was that the dogs had been reported for attacking people in the past. Even though Collin had tamed

them by now, surely they deserved a little reward for their good behavior, right?

Apple pies would help regulate the dogs’ digestion, manage their weight, and provide vitamins. I would make sure every single pregnant dog got a fresh slice of the apple pie.

After all, Clara liked playing games, didn’t she? In that case, I was happy to oblige.

A week later, Clara started coming over to my house to bother me all day long. Maybe she was baffled that nothing had happened to my pregnancy all week, so she came snooping around for information.

Feigning nonchalance, she said, “It’s been a week since your last prenatal checkup, Jessie. How’s your appetite lately? Is it better now?

“If you feel uncomfortable anywhere, you must tell me. I’ll accompany you to the hospital for a checkup.”

I thought about it and replied, “Well, come to think of it, my lower abdomen has felt a little heavy and bloated lately. It feels strange, but when I visited the hospital for a checkup yesterday, the doctor said everything was perfectly normal, and there were no issues. I find it pretty odd myself.”

Clara covered her mouth in surprise. “Really? But if you got examined and the doctor said it’s fine, there should be nothing to worry about.

“Women always feel unwell at the start of their pregnancy. Just get plenty of rest and eat well, okay?

“Especially the apple pies. You must eat more of them. They’re very nutritious.”

I nodded obediently, then clutched my stomach and pretended to be in pain.

Out of the corner of my eye, I caught a sinister smirk tugging at her lips. It seemed like she bought my act.

Immediately after, she produced a pot of savory salmon oatmeal she had stewed herself.

“Jessie, when I went shopping with my mom yesterday, I saw some high-quality salmon and bought it just to make this bowl of oatmeal for you. You used to love my salmon oatmeal, right?

“I know I wasn’t thoughtful enough and made you food you disliked, but you can’t turn this down.”

She probably figured that the Fertility Transfer System’s effects were moving too slowly, so she wanted

to double the dosage.

But it made sense. Waiting a whole week without any results was bound to make her anxious.

She gave me a gentle smile and asked, “What are you waiting for? Go on. Try some.”

Under her expectant gaze, I had no choice but to swallow the entire bowl of savory salmon oatmeal.

The moment she left the house, I rushed into the bathroom and shoved my fingers down my throat, forcing myself to throw up the entire bowl of oatmeal until I was dry-heaving bile. Tears streamed down my face.

Next, I splattered red paint across the bathroom, snapped a photo, and sent it to her.

“Oh no, Clara! I’m not sure why, but my stomach suddenly started hurting badly, and there’s so much

blood!”

She offered a few perfunctory words of comfort before falling silent and never replying again. She didn’t

even offer to take me to the hospital.

It seemed that she had bought my act.

Honestly, it made sense. It would have been too strange if nothing had happened to me, even after she had delivered three massive crates of apple pies.

So, after eating her savory salmon oatmeal, I had to make it look like I miscarried.

I would start my volunteering work at the rescue shelter in a month, and Clara would come with me, so I absolutely couldn’t afford to ruin my plan now.

Besides, she wasn’t the only one capable of putting on a performance; acting happened to be my

speciality, too.
