Tears streamed down Cora’s face.

She stumbled toward me and stopped only inches away.

“Felicity, it wasn’t like that. I didn’t mean for any of this to happen. I never wanted to hurt you.”

I looked down at her without expression, “You didn’t mean to?”

“Wearing a slip nightgown into my home and using my bath towel was an accident?”

“Wearing the veil my mother left me while rolling around in the lounge with my mate was an accident too?”

With every question I asked, Cora’s face grew paler.

Her lips parted, but not a single word came out.

Tristan finally rushed back onto the stage and reached for my arm.

“Felicity, calm down first. Let’s turn off the video and talk somewhere else.”

I jerked my arm away, “Talk somewhere else?”

“When you were holding her in that lounge, did it ever occur to you to talk somewhere else?”

“When you pinned my mother’s veil beneath the two of you, did it ever occur to you to talk somewhere else?”

Tristan froze.

His eyes reddened, and his voice turned hoarse, “I… I didn’t know it meant that much to you…”

I let out a bitter laugh, “You didn’t know?”

“When my mother was dying, didn’t she place that veil in my hands right in front of you?”

“Didn’t she hold your hand and beg you to take good care of me?”

“Didn’t you kneel beside her hospital bed and promise you would never let me suffer?”

Tristan’s lips trembled. He couldn’t utter a single word.

Luna Violet was already in tears.

She walked onto the stage and slapped Tristan hard across the face.

“How could you do this to Felicity?”

“How could you face her mother?”

“She trusted you with her daughter’s future until her very last breath.”

“And this is how you took care of her?”

The blow knocked Tristan’s head to one side.

He didn’t dodge it. He only stared at me.

“Felicity… I was wrong. I know I was wrong. I just… lost my judgment for a while.”

Suddenly, Cora burst into tears and grabbed hold of Tristan’s sleeve.

“Tristan, you can’t let her blame only me.”

“You were the one who said it would be the last time.”

“You were the one who said everything would go back to normal after the wedding.”

“You were the one who kissed me first!”

The ballroom erupted once again.

Alpha Maddox’s face turned livid, “What a disgrace! Both of you, get off that altar!”

Eamon stormed forward and yanked Cora away from Tristan.

“Isn’t this humiliating enough?”

“You’re still clinging to him in front of his future Luna?”

Cora sobbed so hard she could barely breathe, “Dad… I really love him…”

Aurora slapped her again with even greater force, “Love? You call this love?”

“Felicity paid for your education in Europe. She supported you for years.”

“You came back only to steal her mate and destroy the last keepsake her mother left behind.”

“You’re nothing but an ungrateful traitor!”

The slap sent Cora staggering backward.

She nearly fell.

In the past, Tristan would have rushed to catch her the instant she shed a single tear.

But this time… he remained frozen where he stood.

With every guest in the ballroom and both families watching, he finally didn’t dare reach for her.

Watching the scene unfold, I suddenly found it laughable.

So they did know what shame was after all.

The video continued playing on the giant screen.

In the recording, Cora rested against Tristan’s chest and asked softly, “Do you love Felicity?”

Tristan stayed silent for a long time.

Cora laughed quietly, “See? You can’t even answer.”

Tristan lowered his head and kissed her, “Don’t ask.”

“I’m marrying her soon. Everything for the ceremony is already prepared.”

“She’s waited seven years for this. I can’t let anything go wrong now.”

His words echoed through the ballroom speakers.

Every syllable was crystal clear.

At that moment, I felt as though the last seven years of my life had become nothing more than a cruel joke.

Luna Violet looked at me through her tears, “Felicity… our pack has failed you.”

She reached out, wanting to take my hand.

I quietly stepped back.

Her hand froze in midair as tears streamed even faster down her face.

“Luna,” I said softly, “you shouldn’t be the one apologizing.”

“The people who owe me an apology…”

I looked at Tristan. Then at Cora.

“…are the one pretending not to understand.”

“And the one pretending to be the victim.”
