One Don Hates Me to the Bone, the Other Seeks My Ruin Chapter 12

One Don Hates Me to the Bone, the Other Seeks My Ruin Chapter 12

His voice cracked with tears. “If I hadn’t mistaken her for you, we would have been so happy.”

I shook my head gently.

“Thank you for finding my necklace. But from the very beginning, you gave me nothing but threats and humiliation. I never loved you.”

“Besides…” I stared at him, my eyes cold with hatred. “You killed my mother.”

Oliver’s face went pale. “It wasn’t me! It was Hanna! She ordered the family hospital to shut off your mother’s

life support!”

“But you allowed it,” I countered, piercing right through his excuse.

Oliver was left speechless, struggling for words before finally stammering, “But… we’re still legally married.”

I shrugged indifferently. “I’ll file for divorce.”

Before Oliver could speak again, I hailed a cab and got in.

Through the rearview mirror, I watched his tall silhouette slowly collapse in on itself.

Over the next few weeks, Noah and Oliver seemed desperate to make amends.

They funneled all their resources toward Fidelis Fiduciary Trust Corp., with major projects practically

begging to collaborate with us.

The elites of Manhattan kept their complaints to themselves-no one dared offend both the Williams and

Martinez families at the same time.

On my birthday, Oliver rented out every digital screen in Times Square, looping a grand declaration of his

love for me.

Meanwhile, Noah waited downstairs at my office, holding a massive bouquet of white roses.

A flash of joy lit up his eyes when he saw me, and he began walking toward me.

Right then, a car parked by the curb suddenly roared to life, accelerating straight toward me.

Through the windshield, I saw Jessica’s face, twisted in pure madness.

Before I could react, someone shoved me hard.

My head spun, and the sharp screech of tires collided with the terrified screams of the crowd.

I scrambled to look back. Noah lay in a pool of blood, the white rose petals scattered and stained crimson.

The bodyguards tackled Jessica to the ground. She screamed at me, “Helen! Why aren’t you dead? Why do you get to live? Just die!”

My limbs went weak as I crawled to Noah’s side, my hands shaking as I wiped the blood from his lips

He struggled to open his eyes, his breath shallow.

“Helen… I wish we could go back to our school days… I would stay by your side and never leave..”

“I’m sorry…”

His hand fell limp before he could touch my cheek.

I sobbed, screaming his name.

But he never opened his eyes again.

Noah had written a will long ago, leaving all his assets to me.

I donated every single cent to a New York charitable foundation to fund impoverished students, just like I had

once been.

Eventually, the divorce went through smoothly.

As we walked out of the Manhattan courthouse, Oliver let out a sigh. “I’ll never beat him, will I…”

Noah had no family, so I handled his funeral services myself.

On the way to the cemetery with his ashes, Mary finally spoke up.

“There’s something I never told you.”

“When you fell into the ocean back then, Noah jumped in right after you. He almost died trying to save you.”

“I didn’t tell you because I didn’t want you to soften up and get hurt again.”

“But in the end, he still gave his life to protect you…”

“I thought you had the right to know the truth.”

I didn’t say a word, keeping my head bowed.

A single tear fell onto the small urn in my arms.

Once the company stabilized, I stepped back from the business and left New York.

With my old dreams in tow, I started traveling alone.

I visited coastal towns and mountain cities.

I watched the sun rise and set, witnessing the beauty of the seasons.

In the middle of the night, I often dreamed of Noah as a young boy.

He would look at me gently, promising to give me a safe, happy life.

Sometimes, he would weep with red eyes, repeating his apologies over and over.

Mary still tells me about Oliver. He has remained alone all these years.

He stays in his Upper East Side townhouse, waiting for me to return.

But the road ahead is long, and I am free.

For the rest of my days, I will walk toward the light, entirely on my own.
